DNF$: 63 Location: Greece ! | :: What would you do with 6000 Visitors per day ? :: Hello fellow domainers ![]() I have a medical information website with a medical discussion forum , it was a university experiment and we had no intention of making money out of it . Well the word got out in the community of students and so our traffic grew from time to time and we are now recieving almost 6k visitors per day . The fact here is that i had never before tried to optimize a website and i could use some suggestions . What would you do with such traffic ? Is this traffic enough to get some nice advertisements ? i dont know much about it and i thought of signing in with some CPM company is it worth it ? thank you very much in advance ![]() |

Country: | Frankly most affiliate programs really blow. Your best way to make money on the site with 6,000 unique users a day is probably Adsense. Many people think cj.com sucks because of all the problems they've had. Maybe that's changed but it's a gamble. Then search around and try other places that are ppc sites that pay decent money. If you want more info feel free to pm. Good luck! |

Country: | It really depends where the bulk of the traffic goes to. If it's the information itself, adding AdSense would be sensible. If it's the discussion forum, such conversion is almost impossible. Also, if the bulk of the traffic is Greek, consider partnering with a company that deals in the medical sector and get sponsored.

Country: | maybe a frog?. ... sorry I couldn't help it. I'd go with Casale Media and CPA networks. Market Health is a good one. Affiliate marketing is not bad either I'm not sure if MD has one but work those big boys into your forum. In fact I'd like to join if you don't mind pming the link or is it .EDU

Country: | You need to evaluate what your visitors are looking for on your site. You said it's a community site? Is there a way to analyze what posts they are going to - what part of the site most people are spending their time? Are they researching a problem or many? Are people looking for solutions? Or are they just banding together to discuss? If people are coming for particular information, zero in on that and find a more unique way to monetize. also, be wary of putting up too much adsense - you might chase some loyal and new people away. Maybe move ads in slowly...test conversion rates on different parts of the page. And follow your stats closely to see if your bounce rate is getting higher...

DNF$: 4,085 Location: toronto | Your target market would assume are students...I would break it up a bit...I mean adsense (not too much) is a given, but I would also do some book reviews and create a community..not a total social network, but something like a classified or a craigs list type thing so people can buy sell treade text books and stuff. You have to keep people wanting to come back..maybe even a liesure part and put up good deals on student getaways..like spring break...Dont think you will get rich, but if done right you could make decent money for food or to pay rent and or pay for some entertainment per month...

Country: | Analyze the traffic via Sedo? Surely you're jesting. Sedo's stats are not even basic. They list 3-4 incoming links and no indication of search terms, number of hits etc. To get comprehensive stats you need to use your own DNS (hence, server) and use some stats analysis software.

Country: | I would recommend 2 ad spots, one adsense, one "your banner here".
