Anyone tried ads like these?

So I am in no way affiliated with this site, it is just a site that I go to some times when trying to learn how to play some songs on the guitar... the site is chordie.com and you actually have to be inside the site, like the Songs tab for example...

Anyway, I just noticed today how they have their ads set up and it looks awesome, possibly close to a TOS violation maybe? I almost clicked the ads a few times thinking it was content..

So is this allowed and if so how do you choose this format?

what kind of google ads r those?.....never saw that type before.....customized?
