Google checks going up!

Finally my check from google are going back up. 2 years ago my checks were like $4,000+ a month then down to 1200$ a month out of the blue! Now they have gone back up after tweaking my ad locations and using new scripts and such.

I was getting ready to change to another source but google seems to be on the up recently for me at least..

what are type of site are you running? is this google ads on the site? please explain your income source for me and other newbies who may want to venture out of PPC

Better CTR and more advertisers competing for the same keywords... perhaps?

Definitely you are right... I have been bidding higher and higher for keywords but with less and less results... Competition is what brings you the big fat check.

the problem with google adsense is that you have to spend big in order to make big so in theory you may only break even.

my adsense earnings have tripled this month while my parking revenue is down 30ish%
all seasonal i think though - need the kids back in school for parking to bounce back.

Over the past 18 months I have noticed a HUGE decrease in adsense. I have a very large, established site that uses it and the trend is going through the floor. Because the site covers a wide variety of topics, Adsense doesn't do a good job of displaying relevant ads that people click on. Unfortunately I've had to filter out some inappropriate ads as copywriters are getting quite creative. Time to use another ad network!

What are the best "current" alternatives to AdSense?

Is there a higher payout between certain Ad companies for keywords, for instance I've heard that AdSense pay out much higher rates for poker related sites than other Ad companies.
