Is it OK to ask people to click on ads?

I've been wondering - is it against any ToS (Adsense or other) to ask people to click on ads?

Such as "check out our ads" or "click on our ads to help pay our bills" and so on?

I posted a article about this long while back, A rep from Google said it was a big NO NO. Anything that goes against natural traffic and clicks, they usually dont like.

Not only is it unethical, but it's in the TOS if I remember right. Don't do it!

Dragger, I thought someone like you would already know the answer to your own question, you are a moderator, should moderators be knowledgeable? No biggie though, better to ask if you don't know.

What ever you do, ..... do not click on your own ads, especially from the same computer or location that you check your AdSense stats. No matter how interested you might be in the ad.

Google will put the Kibosh on you quicker then any Parking company.

Have you just started using AdSense? How you you liking it. Your click through may decrease as compared to a parking site, but your rev per click is more, which will more then compensate. Especially for niches that pay over $1.50 a click on average.

    Good Luck!!

Hmm, 14 responses and all day no. I think I'll wait for a 15th opinion. Thank you for the input.

I wasn't 100% sure and I thought it was against the TOS but I think I've seen it once or twice.

Definitely! Generally, I'm not interested in any ads on adsense anyway, especially in my niche.

No, I've been using them for a while just never sat down to read the TOS word for word but I do agree, revenue per click is higher (and the developed sites that were parked weren't getting any clicks while parked anyway).

Actually I have been wondering one thing. When you do development on sites with adsense and accidentally click on the ad, what do you do?

Also sometimes development will result in increase of impressions (no clicks, of course). Will google ban account for that reason?
