I 'm wondering if that is still true, now that the term hack is used is so many non-sestructive ways. It's now a typical synonym for mods and tricks.
Anyone know. Thinking about buying a name with the term in it and want to make sure I won't be restricted (given I won't be teaching "hacks" in the traditional sense).
I notice Lifehacker.com does not have Adsense on it, but maybe that doesn't mean anything.

All of the above domains have word "hacks" and they still have adsense on the sites.
I think this will give you better idea.
You could use an alternative word like "security" to be on the safe side.
The meaning of Hack changes with the content of the website. Like aprit said hack can be phphacks.com but again if your website has contents like hack applications, hack website, website hacking tools etc.. then it is illegal..
again just because domain name contains the term hack doesn't get you banned. It is the content that matters at the end of the day..
..:: peace ::..
