    Converting Joomla to Wordpress

Has anyone had experience with a program that will convert a database from Joomla to Wordpress? I have a site I'm considering making such a transition but it has *a lot* of content that I would rather not re-add.

I'm sure this all can be worked out after but:

Joomla "articles" to become pages in WP.

    Top menu in tact.

There are some plugins for that. But I have never used them.

I took a very, very heavy content Joomla site and simply copy and pasted all the content to WP. Worked like a charm. Lost no content, articles, or images. Of course, had to reset menus, etc. But it was not that difficult as it sounds.

How can I do that if I am keeping the site on the same domain - copy all the posts (html) into notepad?

Yes. Copy all the HTML code to Notepad or to Open Office .org.

Copy and back up every thing.

Once you have every thing copied, then install wordpress on the site.

Here are a couple other options.

There are plugins for Joomla to Wordpress. Try one of those.

Also. Just have someone assist to copy and move all the files. Then have them reinstall files onto your fresh wordpress install.

Its not impossible but does involve some planning and some work.

I recently converted a joomla site with over 100 pages of content to WP using this link:

Pretty simple and worked without any problems, articles were all in tact all I had to do was reformat
