The network of 354 domains split into 3 networks: general (256 sites = 3 PR6, 16 PR5, 171 PR4, 59 PR3, 2 PR2, 5 PR0), free domains network (3 PR4, 7 PR3, 5 PR2, 2 PR1, 5 PR0), and 2 new, undeveloped networks: sex (4 PR4, 1 PR3, 2 PR2, 32 PR0), general (4 PR2, 3 PR1, 18 PR0). Plus 4 domains unused.

The nature of business is selling text link advertising on the sites. Currently this is done 1) through one online auction to sell well-going text advertising packages for $300/mo on a general network of sites; 2) through ad broker who sells text ads for you. This income is recurring. Google Adsense ads are set up on general network of sites, but I don’t pay much attention to it. Also I manage one network I’ve sold before in exchange for 30% of revenue it makes.

Occasional income. Last month I have started to sell our own in-house built network building software. Sold one license for $6000. With this software we’ve also built a network of sites for one advertiser for $7,500.

Most of the traffic comes from search engines. Monthly unique visitors - over 100,000 on almost all sites (from AdSense statistics as I don’t have counted it site by site). There are ~120,000 pages indexed on Google.

Managing network:

Network is built with a thought how to manage it with ease. It should take no more than 10 minutes a day to manage entire network (except you make some improvements, of course). Why?

1) Insertion of ads from ad broker is done by simple click on a “Approve” button,

2) Ads on sites are distributed from central location, you have no need to login to each site and update its ads,

3) When you need some improvement, we built an multiple upload and SQL queries tools,

4) Almost all sites are using Co-op free advertising from Digitalpoint to ease link exchange and sites popularity,

5) If you need more networks like this on different keywords, you can launch builder of sites we have done,

6) Full rights to script for parsing Google search results content for supplementation of news pages, for creation of networks based on Google search results, or for other purposes,

7) And most importantly you don’t need to spend time on sites content, it is done through our proprietary system (we have spent over 2 years developing and improving it).

Expenses:

There are such expense categories:

1) Servers. We have 3 double Xeons, $238/mo each, and 2 shared hosting accounts for $20/mo., and $25/mo.

2) Customer acquisition costs. This is for fees of an online auction we use. It was $121.98 for October, or total of $518.32 (those costs gave a revenue of $15,208.15).

3) Server management costs – if you don’t want to manage them yourselves, it usually costs ~$35 per server per month.

4) FTP backup service. Costs is $60 per year.

5) Updates of phpBB templates when new phpBB version is available – depends on your programmer,

6) Bank service charges – depends on your bank.

7) Payment processor charges – we use 2CO for ad sales, but those charges are deducted from revenue (see Revenue details).

FAQ

How content is updated? Most sites work fully automatically, act as search engines, they extract data from the web without your effort. Other projects if needed are updated through web-based admin panels.

Are pages SE-optimized? Yes, although they are populated dynamically, they appear as static pages.

Why are you selling? 2005 September 25 I’ve got a ischemic brain
stroke, so I want some rest for a while.

Where are domains registered? All domains are registered through GoDaddy. Transfer of each domain will cost $7.

How many backlinks sites do have? According to Google, almost all of them have from 400 to 1500 backlinks. According to Yahoo (as more reliable source for this information, sites have up to 110,000 backlinks, mostly over 40,000). Most of links come through Digitalpoint’s Co-op advertising network, link exchange with one network, links from other sites within network and some sites have link exchanged with other sites through linkmarket.net.

In your revenue details you indicate that your total "Ad sales" and "Broker ad sales" both were 10 times that of Google. Are these affiliate commissions or straight out ad buys for space on various sites? An example of two of these type of ads on a site or two would be helpful. You may PM this info if you do not wish to post it.

The reason I ask is that prepurchased web ad space is usually a more steady income than a lot of PPC.

They are buys for ad space from 1) text ads broker (ads are delivered through php include on various sites), and 2) direct sales of ad packages (this one goes on almost all websites). I don't manage statistics for each particular site as often I treat those sites as package.
