Description:
GamerMill.com is the No.1 site in its niche - an Xbox 360 / PS3 finder and In-stock notification alert service. Site is in Top 10 on Yahoo and was on the Top in MSN (now slipped to third page) for the keyword ‘Xbox 360 in stock’.

The site operates a free service for people who are searching for the Xbox 360 and is also geared up for the upcoming launch of the Sony PS3 / Nintendo Revolution. The site continuously searches over 12 online retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Buy.com, Toys-R-Us, Circuit City, CompUSA, Walmart etc. for availability of stocks and automatically alerts all registered users on their cellphone (through a text message) or by email the second an Xbox is available online. We have managed to bag over 700 Xbox 360's for our customers since launch and continue to bag a few every day. In fact since we have posted this sale on the 27th of February (see old thread http://www.*********.com/forums/show....php?t=352295), the site has helped 53 more people to bag a Xbox 360 (in the last 16 days) taking the count from 650 then to 703 today. The site also has its own forum (http://www.gamermill.com/forum.php) and is a truly Auto-pilot site which requires no maintenance but only promotion.

Reasons for selling:

1. I have not been able to maximize revenue from the site since mid-feb and revenues have dipped because of my inability to market the site well. I think it is better I pass on this site to somebody who can do so.

2. Also my Adsense account has been banned arbitrarily by Google and I am now without an Adsense account. Please note that this site has NOT been banned by Google / Google Adsense, just my account has been closed citing 'invalid clicks' on another site of mine (freepichosting.info) and I have appealed against the same with Google.

3. The traffic to the site has decreased as I have not advertised it as much as I should. I just spent $200 on Google and $150 on Overture in Dec-Jan. Also people are not so keen on finding an Xbox 360 now as much as they were in Dec-Jan.

4. I need the money

The new owner should be prepared to spend a good amount on advertising and also prepare for the PS3 launch (expected sometime in June). I will show the owner how to operate the site and add/delete products and give him a one page write-up/operation manual. It is very simple and any non-techie can also operate the site. I will also show the owner how he can recover his investment in 6 – 8 months.

Comments:

We have a captive customer base which is waiting to be sold to. You do not need marketing gimmicks for a niche product audience. Just see the tremendous goodwill we have (on our forums). All we need is a good offer to be posted/emailed to those users and they'll take it if it is indeed good enough and an honest deal.

I have been making $50 per Xbox as you can see from my Amazon revenue stats which are in the post. But that was only because the bundles were priced at $999. We have sold $40,000 worth of Xbox's through the site and that is through Amazon alone. If you calculate the total Sales of Xbox 360's sold because of this site, it would cross $3,50,000 in Sales (700 x $500 per).

I just went through the database today and we have crossed 700 (Xbox 360's bagged by us) but if you see the Income stats, we got commission for only 50 of them! Just imagine if we had got commission on 500. Our Net Profit would be over $25,000 by now. But I have'nt been able to do it because I am not an affiliate of all the other stores listed and I cannot get approved because I am not based in USA but in India. Most Online retailers refuse to approve someone outside the US as an affiliate.

We still have over 500 people in the database who are interested to buy a Xbox 360 but were holding back because of the exorbitant prices of the bundles. Now, if you post a special offer - say an Xbox Premium bundle at $499 (after tying up with a suitable retailer) you can easily make $80 per Xbox Nett. Even if 50 out of 500 decide to buy it, you can get $4000. If 100 go for it that will make you $8000. I hope you can see the possibilities.

Also, I had an offer from one of the smaller Xbox 360 online stores to sell 50 Xbox 360's for them at a Nett margin of $80 per piece. I did not accept it at that time as we could not agree on tracking sales from my site to his and also on the Payment Terms so the deal fell through. If you tie-up with such a merchant, and could work a way around tracking sales (by creating a seperate sales page on the site). I will pass on information about this retailer to the buyer.

Also lets not forget, when the PS3 is being launched, you can charge $10 per signup and make at least $10,000 from that. We have over 2500 members now and I guess we can manage 1000 signups for the PS3 (say 500 existing members and 500 new).

I'm interested in this site and think you have a really great niche here. Though there is something I dont quite understand.

I dont see how you are making any profits if you are spending $50/day between Google and Oveture.

50/day x 30days = $1500
$1500/Month x 6 Month Garuntee limit = $9,000

So if its costing 10k to buy the site and 9k for advertising, to make 9k revenue for 6 months. Where is the other 10,000 coming form to make up for the investment?

Thank you for your interest.

The $50/day is a 'proposed' measure. I am not currently spending that.

The other proposed financials are as follows:

1. Sell 50 Xbox 360's after tying up with the retailer as mentioned above will net $4000 ($80 x 50 nos = $4k)

2. Get 1000 members to sign up for the PS3 alert service (500 existing members + 500 new members). We currently have over 2600 members and I estimate that around 500 of them will be interested to sign up for the PS3 alert service provided it is priced reasonably. The 500 new members will come from the Ads we have already budgeted for. So lets say $10/member x 1000 members = $10,000 in membership fee income.

3. Selling existing bundles (Games to be added to this) will get around $1000/month which we have been doing already as shown above.

So Net Income in 6 months = $10k (membership fees) + $6k (regular) + $4k (50 Xbox sold through Special promo) = $20k

Expenses = $9k as you pointed above ($50/day for 6 months) + $1k (misc expenses)

Total profit = $10k

The above is just an estimate and can fluctuate +/- 20%

Whatever you make from YPN/Adsense is additional bonus. I estimate this to be around $20 -$25 / day or $3600 / $4500.

Also, if you read the updated post above (sorry I did not update earlier) I earned Affiliate commission on only 50 Xbox 360's. Hopefully the new buyer will get affiliated with more retailers and can get commissions on 90% of the sales. So this will increase the $1000/month (no.3 above) considerably, which I have not accounted for.
