Hi European,
It is not a site I've ever tried to monetize (only added ads two weeks ago) as it was started as a tool to help fellow satire sites when I was writing a new satire site in 2001/2002. I didn't want to pull in an income as I thought it was unfair as it relied on the good will of the members. However, a rival copycat site humorfeed started a year later fully aimed at monetizing the feeds.
However despite the rival site's focus on income, as you will see from both politicalhumor.about.com
and humor.about.com, SS has remained the main feed as it updates every 15 mins compared to daily on the rival site.
So that is why I have put it here for offers without a bin right now, as I don't have the time to work on the site to monetize it properly as I am working on a new offline business that will become my full-time job later this year.
I guess the most money would be made by embedding paid links into the auto feeds which appear on sites across the net like about.com, comedy-zone etc.
When you say site visitors, I take it you are talking about uniques hitting your site, not people seeing your feed elsewhere?
I'll start bidding: $500
Hey guys, call me slow but I've just checked out the ad stats and it looks really encouraging so I have decided not to sell the site after all.
Yes, I should have done it years ago! Yes, I am a muppet.
