    Very large eNom reseller 4sale_Over 30 000 regs_ICANN prospect.

If you have ever considered getting into the domain name registration business or are currently a reseller or registrar that would like to grow their business through aquisitions, this may be for you. Due to obvious reasons, the name of the company will be withheld until suitable candidates have been located.

The company in question averages over 35 new regs/day and has in excess of 10 000 customers with over 30 000 domain names currently under management. This company has been in business for over 3 years and has shown solid growth year after year while doing over $250 000.00 in domain name registrations last year alone. Fourth generation renewals are now coming in and new registrations are continuing on an hourly basis. All support is done via email and most order processing and billing are done automatically. This site literally makes money as you sleep.

One of the greatest things about this business is the potential upsell abilities. None of these customers have been sold anything other than domain name registrations. No Hosting, no POP3 or other email services, merchant accounts, security certs etc. They have not even been on a mailing list.

This business is currently operating on the Registry Rocket and PDQ platforms. With the exception of graphics, the new site design (DRAMS) complete.

    Some assets included:
    wild west reseller account ($7.00).
    eNom reseller account ($6.95)
    • $7000.00 Earned commissions pending release
    • Custom designed Registry Rocket site
    • Customized PDQ site
    • Customized XML parking pages (with multiple feeds)

    Web based helpdesk.
    All current advertising partnerships.
Brand new yet to be luanched scalable site.
Complete current and past customer list.

There are many assets, aspects and details regarding this business that are confidential and will only be discussed should a suitable candidate be found. Please e-mail me for more details.

Selling price is low 1xx,xxx.00. No tire kickers please.

We are willing to assist new owner to become ICANN accredited if desired and will assist in all aspects of business transfer including support and management. Owner is willing to stay on as manager for a limited time upon completion of sale.

Please contact me if you or your organization would like more information.

    Thank you.

For new domain registrations the profit for .com, .net, .org and .info the profit for a 1 year registration is approx $1.50/reg after cc fees. For .biz and .us the profit is $2.50 after cc fees. Expired renewals profit are approx $6.25 and $7.25 respectively. Other extensions are available and the margins are higher but registrations are too low in quantity to warrant mention.

I should also mention that there is a $6.95 eNom Reseller account, a $7.00 wild west Reseller account and a contract with another registrar for $6.30 regs. All of the profits mentioned above are based on the use of the $6.95 eNom account so the profits for the $6.30 account would obviously be higher.

    Thank you.

For the curious minds who are considering a buy-in is there a target price range you can disclose? 5 figure / 6 figure asking price. At $1.50 per domain year profit on 20000 domains it's only $30k / year.

For anyone that is in this business currently or has been in the domain name business for a long time, it is understood that the profit made/domain registration is only the tip of the iceburg. The majority of profit is made outside of the actual domain name registrations as the registration itself is something of a "loss leader".

Please note that this deal is much bigger than I am able to divulge here. There are many domain names, external sources of income and other aspects to this business that make it attractive. There have been many partnerships suggested and all of these types of inquiries are welcome.

The price as stated is $xxx, xxx.00. It would seem a good job has been done to weed out the tire kickers as there has been only 3 prospects that have gone far enough to sign the NDA required and only one of these to ask intelligent enough questions to accurately assess the value of what is being offered here.

There seemed to be nothing here. I tried to get information from them and could never get any meaningful dialog going.

Unfortunately many of the requests for information (since my last post) have been from those who are clearly not in a position to aquire and run this business (Tire kickers). To any who have sent a message regarding this business and have proof of capital, Please send PM's with a phone number and a good time to call. All such inquiries will be responded to.

    Thank you.

I own a Benz, but I drive a Toyota Avalon - what's that tell you?

Together, when you mention new site is 95% done with API, are you indicating that it's a complete eNom API site? Is that for all functions, including Hosting, or just domain registration? What platform is the site (PHP, ASP, ASP.NET)?

Re: Very large eNom reseller 4sale_Over 20K regs_ICANN prospect.

lol, I see others had the same problem.... I would not pride myself so much on keeping away 'tire kickers' when the process also seems to have kept out legitimate prospects.

There is some basic information that should be disloused to make it known if it is worth signing an NDA, and once it is past that stage an excusivity clause is typical during the due dillegance area. Buyers are just as concerned as sellers with wasting there time on fools gold, perhaps more so.

He says 'design' is done in Perl... of course perl is not for design... but anyway....

Sure, but you could do Perl on Linux or Windows (though it's much more common on Linux boxes).

I'm just curious if this company comes with a complete eNom API site, or if it's a subset of the API (domains only, for example)

Re: Very large eNom reseller 4sale_Over 20K regs_ICANN prospect.

I can't imagine he'd want an NDA to clarify what he's selling! It's not like I'm asking to see source code (which I would, but under NDA, if I decided I were interested). Frankly, unless there's something I'm missing here, I don't think 6-figures is realistic.

But hey, what do I know?!

Re: Very large eNom reseller 4sale_Over 20K regs_ICANN prospect.

    Greets,

In his defense, if I was selling my "primary business", I would certainly want an NDA signed by any interested party. And, any party REALLY interested in buying a real business (which is what something of his suggested size would be) would be happy to sign an NDA (as if they decided to buy it, it would be devalued by public information release).

His details will lead to the ability to attain information about his clients, including names and contact information... and obviously it could harm his business (and potential sale of it), if those clients were to find out that he was looking to sell.

    Well, that's just MHO. ;-)

Re: Very large eNom reseller 4sale_Over 20K regs_ICANN prospect.

On the other hand, already being in the business, I would be very hesitant to sign an NDA unless I knew more about the business. Odds are, in this market, I'm thinking of new offerings that might be similar to what he has. If I execute on my thoughts, he can come back and claim I got the idea from him, in violation of the NDA. That would cause problems.

So NDAs should be executed only after it's clear that what he has is what I'm looking for. And at a 6-figure price, I'd want to know more. Like how long I'd be looking at before I saw a ROI, and what assets he has that I need.

    Just thinking out loud.

    Some additional answers to questions

Here is a PM that was recieved. The responses are made public here for all interested parties to benefit from.

[/QUOTE]How many employees does the business have at the moment?

    Why are they selling?

Is the "new site design" which was 95% ready in late April aready done? If not, what exactly is missing (manhours and/or cost) to bring it to its conclusion?

Can you be a bit more specific than xxx,xxx.00? $100,000, $200,000, $300,000, etc.?

    Thanks,

    ******

I am sorry for the delay in the reply.

The business currently is operated part time by the owner and part time by 1 employee. Combined this business could be run with less than full time hours by one person.

The new site design is essentially complete. All that is left to be done is testing and minor tweaks. Although the selling price would be largely dependent on which assets the buyer was interested in. It is not expected the sale of this site and the majority of its assets will fetch the upper end of what you suggest but if it did that would be fine and would not really be surprising.

Officially this business is not for sale. There is no need to sell as it is profitable and established and only if the right offer by the right person came along would it change hands. This sales listing is meant to field interest and solicit serious offers that may lead to a sale.

    Thank you.
