able to own an .it domain being from the usa?

i recently was able to secure a domain .it through eurodns. They are currently the registrant because .it domains require a Italian agent. I am using my domain for business now and it is worth a lot of money, I do not trust eurodns being the full owner of it. Is there a better way to secure ownership? eurodns says they will delete a domain if they feel like it , which is why i dont exactly trust them

You need to be EU citizen or have an EU company to register .it domains.

Register a UK company for example. I paid £80 a few years back but this is just for the paperwork.
You need to add a few $$$ for maintenance, office address etc.

This is correct but make sure your VAT is in order as the Italian registry will sometimes do checks for correct VAT's and whether a legitimate company does indeed exist.
