Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Having lived in Costa Rica for about 3 years until just recently, I took a flyer on a couple of .CR domains that I'd eventually like to trade.
sedo tells me that the .CR names cannot be purchased, sold or otherwise transferred through their service because of restrictions at the registry level. I've poked around trying to find some more information on this to no avail.
I know its a long shot, but does anyone around here even HAVE a dot CR in their portfolio, much less know anything about trading in the same?
Thanks in advance.
yes i own some , and as per usual sedo are talking out of their arse
they're very simple to transfer. no charges
I have a few too, AFAIK you can push freely at nic.cr, didn't try yet though.

I know it's way early in the game, but have you guys seen any previous aftermarket trades in .CR? Not ready to move off of mine anytime soon; and, my expectations are really really low anyway ... so, just curious.
.co.cr is still more popular than .cr so the ext has yet to catch up

I don't know about local Internet penetration rates but I don't think they are huge at present.
Costa Rica is a small market anyway

CR is indeed a very small market; but, as referenced above by PRED, they are a very technologically advanced country. In fact, internet penetration growth rates in Latin America and the Caribbean are amongst the highest in the world over the past few years.
I do think that there are some strong niches in Costa Rica and eventually for the .CR brand ... Travel & Tourism, Real Estate, Business & Banking. And, in terms of language support, certain "EnglishWord".CR names may even show some promise down the line, due to the very large English-speaking expat base as well as the tourism base.
Of course, maybe I'm just rationalizing the large reg fees for these names![]()
sedo dont have a clue when it comes to these things...
Its actually quicker to transfer a .cr than a .com
Ive sold three or four and Ive had no problems completing the deal.
Thanks for info, I've sold domain .cr by sedo, but Sedo canceled unsuccessfully transfer after six month.
