Plaid backs internet bid
A CAMPAIGN to create a Welsh equivalent of .uk on the internet has received backing from Plaid Cymru politicians.
If the campaign is successful, it would mean that Welsh internet addresses could be assigned a two letter country code suffix signifying Wales such as .cw. Places such as the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey already have their own suffixes.
Plaid Cymru AM Leanne Wood has laid a motion in the National Assembly backing the move. She said, "The new domain would offer significant marketing and promotional opportunities for Wales.
