Sorry; I saw this on another forum and assumed it was true.
Here's an update.
<EDIT>Just got a reply from Jay Finnan at sedo.
It's not illegal. They just don't have a procedure in place yet. I don't know why they chose that language. Its probably easier than explaining that they never planned for the domains to be transferred. Alex will be in touch soon if he hasn't already and update you on the status of .eu transfers. It might take a few weeks before the registry puts a procedure in place.

They just replied to me saying that it is illegal to sell domains and want to know which domains I am talking about as I am busy with illegal practises and they want to maybe institute juridical proceedings against me. ??? HUH WHAT?? ILLEGAL?? What about all the .eu names for sale then on sedo and Afternic and elsewhere???

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I followed the ".eu" link without noticing it was a sub-forum for "ccTLD Domains for sale".

I believe you can still push names to a new owner with an account at the registrar of record...

Yes. I have sold several .eu's through Dotster and they have been pushed to the new owner without a problem.

on the EurID Website you can read in some news that trade is allowed. the Ownerchange was not implemented in the API, it is now since 1 or 2 weeks.
At EuroDNS the ownerchange will be implemented latest at the 19th of may as I know, I will keep you informed.
Push is already now possible.

Can someone outside the eu buy eu domains?

Nope Europeans only! but I am sure if you knew someone in europe you could use there address or something to get around it.
I doubt they really check anyway.
