    EU: not allowed to sell

    Geachte heer,

Het is helemaal niet de bedoeling dat .eu domeinnamen verkocht worden
Om welke domeinnaam gaat het trouwens, het is misschien best dat ons juridisch
departement dit even onderzoekt om de te gaan of u niet met illegale praktijken
    bezig bent.

    Mvg

Translated it means: "It is not allowed to sell .eu names. Which name is this about? Maybe it is best our juridical department investigates if you are busy with illegal practises."

    Now what the!!!.......

    Is this for-real?

This must be a joke. You can transfer names 40 days after registeration.

check their FAQ here check #14

    <EDIT>

Sorry forgot this was a sale area and just followed the first post and replied.

Re: EU: not allowed to sell

Sorry; I saw this on another forum and assumed it was true.

    Here's an update.
Just got a reply from Jay Finnan at sedo.

It's not illegal. They just don't have a procedure in place yet. I don't know why they chose that language. Its probably easier than explaining that they never planned for the domains to be transferred. Alex will be in touch soon if he hasn't already and update you on the status of .eu transfers. It might take a few weeks before the registry puts a procedure in place.

HUH WHAT?? ILLEGAL?? What about all the .eu names for sale then on sedo and Afternic and elsewhere???
    > Please Jay reply to me urgently. What is this nonsense from EURID. This will collapse the whole .EU market.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I followed the ".eu" link without noticing it was a sub-forum for "ccTLD Domains for sale".

I believe you can still push names to a new owner with an account at the registrar of record...

Yes. I have sold several .eu's through Dotster and they have been pushed to the new owner without a problem.

Re: EU: not allowed to sell

But are the registrant's details updated at the registry? Moving domains around within registrar sites is well and good, but I get the impression that Eurid don't have a proper system in place to update registrants..

Re: EU: not allowed to sell

on the EurID Website you can read in some news that trade is allowed. the Ownerchange was not implemented in the API, it is now since 1 or 2 weeks.
At EuroDNS the ownerchange will be implemented latest at the 19th of may as I know, I will keep you informed.

    Push is already now possible.

Its too early to be glad don't you think? Wait a couple of years and then if .eu proves to be a joke then be glad.
