Already sold roughly 125 of the 200 I picked up. The others are mostly at 1and1 and noone wants to hassle with transferring them out
If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Got my first 90-day notice of renewal at DomainSite for the 25 .infos I registered there last year. Hard to believe it has been 9 months since the free info bonanza.
(Of course, DomainSite wasn't the only registrar offering free .infos. I also got some from Dotster and eNom, but DomainSite was arguably the first.)
I'm probably going to keep about 25% of the .infos I registered last year for free. IMHO, the free .info land rush devalued .infos so much, the ones I have hardly seem like keeping, since the market price will barely cover renewal costs and time spent marketing, selling, and pushing the domains. But then again, I just bought a .info for my side business (see link in my sig) that I feel is a strong brand... so perhaps its all about end-user perception.
So, what about you all? How many of your free-25 will you be renewing? In anticipation of the coming renewal year, do you think the Afilias price reduction / .info free promotions will be the death of the .info TLD, or an ingenious marketing move?

lol only good domains i got from the free 25 was gamehacks and onlinefreebies
I will suggest you to throw the bad ones or sell them with a renewal and the good ones renew those.
Same goes with me, will be getting a notice soon too.
I used dotster and got mine fairly late.
I doubt I will renew any of the domains.

I used dotster too and was bombarded with spam emails, so I don't think I'll renew any of them!
I got 18 freebies - sold 1 of them for low$xx another for mid$xx
of the 16 left
a few earn enough to pay their renewal fee from adsense each month - most have at least earned their renewal fee plus a little extra
a few I picked up just to use for seo experiments and will let go.
I have a couple that, while they don't earn enough ppc income to support themselves, I will renew 'cause I'm convinced that they are worth holding onto for possible end-user sale.
A lot of the .info's that were regged for free will fall by the wayside (as they should), some good ones will be dropped - but I don't think that the market for GOOD .info's will be affected much.
I won't renew any of mine, all I got was crappy domains anyways. However, when I was registering them I didn't know anything about domaining![]()
Cogito, ergo sum!
I didn't know anything about domains hardly back then, so I will not be keeping my domains.
I did not register that many of them though, 10-12.
I have officially made $xx,xxx off of free .info's.
Well done, NameMogul. I have a few decent ones but I probably won't renew.
