Did Sedo change this, or I'm loosing my mind?

I have sold a couple dozens domains through sedo, still, I don't remember exactly, since all last year I didnt' sell one.

I thought, the thing was like this.
I receive an offer, say $100
    I counter offer, say $200.
Then, the buyer, matches my offer of $200, then I either accept the sale or have the chance to send the domain to auction.

But it doesn't. It doesn't work like that.
    It worked like this:

I receive an offer, say $100
    I counter offer, say $200.
Then, the buyer accept my $200 and the transfer begin!!

    Really???
    Why???
Why don't I have the last word to sell or not my domain?

Did it ever worked like in the first example?

    I've just undersold a domain :(

    Added:
My problem was that I counter offer low, to entice the buyer to match the offer, but thinking of sending to auction.
So, my real chance is only when I'm receiving the offer right...
But I still think I remember it was to work other way.

    always worked this way

if you make me an offer and i counter offer, then you agree to that price... at that point, we should have a deal.

there should be no sending to auction after that

your auction window was open when they offered you $100.00, it closed when you sent that counter offer

had you sent a higher offer, like $800 and then they sent another counter offer of say $350, then you send to auction @ $350 as the reserve or counter their offer with a higher amount.

    imo...

I just had one of those moments..... :(

Well, it was still a fair price, not a steal, but fair.

It has always been like this.

    It works this way:

    1. Buyer makes you an offer (e.g. $100)

    2. You counter offer* (e.g. $200)

    3. The buyer accepts your counter offer*

    * Counter offer = What you are willing to accept in order to sell your domain name.

I don't understand what doesn't make sense for you about this.

I've just realized that all my sales at sedo, has been through Auction since they didn't match my offer, or, I matched their offer.
So, it was just that it never happened to me that someone matched my offer.

Once the buyer matches an asking price , the deal is sealed . However , if your asking price is $200 and buyer offers you $199 , you can start an auction.
