1. The Asian IDN market is getting hot, and Japanese cities are the best bet with a $4.7 trillion economy (equivalent to UK and Germany combined). The Japanese PPC market is also well developed with keywords matching US prices.

2. Unfortunately, most western domainers are at lost when it comes to Asian idns - what should i do with the "white boxes", so i've gathered 25 Japanese cities .com, all with Japanese overture exceeding 15,000, and urban populations varying from 200,000 to 500,000+.

3. Zero risk investment as type-in traffic is almost guaranteed once everyone starts to use IE 7 since all Japanese cities have their own government website - E.g. Kagoshima's website is at http://www.city.kagoshima.lg.jp. Note the lengthy URL.

Sorry, what do you mean by "readies"?

1. For benefit of the rest, in case the figures do not make sense, i'm posting figures of comparable American/Great Britain cities, their population, and US overture.

2. Also, you guys might want to know that Bogota.com, bought by VerticalAxis for $159,500, only had a US overture of 13964, and an ES overture of 2334 - http://www.dnforum.com/f17/bogota-co...es-121291.html.

3. Woking.com sold for £8925, is a small british city with a US overture of 660 (i dunno if there's a UK overture, if someone can help point out).

4. Südtirol.info ("South Tyrol" in German) sold for 8,750 Euros has a DE overture of 7903, and a US overture of 535.

5. In comparison, every single one of the 25 .com cities i am selling has a JP overture of more than 15000.

I managed to get some poor province chinese cities - the wealthy and big ones are taken, and just registered these japanese cities/prefectures (i'm selling 25 and keeping about 28 for traffic investment).

There's some type-in traffic from the small chinese cities after parking them for the past few days - but definitely better than my .us, which are virtually 'trafficless' even after a month.

If you are interested, you have to act fast as most people are sitting on their collection, and it will take much more than the EDITED (in fact many times more) to buy from existing owners.

On the issue of whether Japanese cities or Chinese cities are better, i would think that Japanese cities are worth much more due to the currency difference - for example, if $30 gets a salon haircut in an average Japanese city, the same amount will buy 2/3 year's worth of haircut in an average Chinese city.

All these buying and selling of .com for two/three thousand dollars (16,000RMB to 25,000RMB) on such forums is 1 year's pay for a Chinese engineer earning 2,000RMB a mth, and in medium sized chinese cities, $35K can buy a 2 bedroom apartment in the city center...

Congratulations. The next lot will cost you ten times that amount and the bar will start to rise very rapidly. Touchring has given these away and he knows it!

I have holding of similar if not greater value than his, but where do you find a sales item from me? I am holding out till the traffic materialises, unless someone with the understanding and the Readies is prepared to make a meaningful direct approach. Hell, I have enough problems dealing with all the enquires relating to IDN that land in my mail box already. The way things are going, I am going to have to change all my mail addresses and drop out of circulation! Once IE 7.0 arrives, you are going to have start paying earnings multiples, similar to English dot coms. Trying to negiociate with guys that are getting rich just sitting on their butts is going to be tough!

If you want Tier 1 Japanese IDN, you will need to be very ingenious to register something that has been missed. This is already secondary market territory. If you want 2nd Tier domains as new registrations, don't let the grass grow under your feet, it won't be long before the Iwillregisteranylongcombinationofwords.com brigade are filling in the gaps.

It doesn't matter because it's not possible to buy any more cities, at least if the money is less than $300.

As Dave has said, after this sale, the price will go up many times. Reason -> Existing collectors are not going to sell unless the offer is good. And there are no more major cities left to register.
