Interesting decision and this post probably belongs in a different section.
So while I am taking the time to do the whois research on a domain that is posted for sale, someone else posts PENDING SOLD but they THEN want to be able to look up the register and expiration?
It seems that the name is either sold or not sold. You either do your research OR you commit to purchasing the name as it is posted. There really should not be a lot of middle ground with this.
I guess if the person who posted the "PENDING SALE" had not liked the register or expiration date then they could have posted "NOT SOLD" and backed-out of the transaction?
That would also mean that I could go through every transaction that does not list the whois information, post "PENDING SALE", tie-up the name for a while and then decide if I did or did not want it?
It was a $5.00 LLLL.com so the name is hardly a big deal and Comscout I do not have any issue with how you handled this. However, this seems to me to be a dangerous precedent to set if people can start doing this.
