Hey guys, my I'm auctioning off the domain eMoments.org which is currently at a PR7 on google. My friend was planning to build on it, but he got lazy and I bought it off him for $8, but according to my other friend, these domains are worth much more, so I'm starting the auction at $100. Other than when it expires and it's PR, I don't know anything about this domain...I'm currently transferring it to my server to see how many hits it gets, but yeah, that will take another day.

I'm thinking that there may be a slight problem here.

emoments.org has no inbound links or anything. If you put emoments.org into google nothing comes up but if you but www.emoments.org in then it shows phpnuke.org which has a PR 7. Has this domain just been forwarded to that site for a while?

the problem is with how google interpretes the website.

checkout http://dnforum.com and http://www.dnforum.com

one is showing up as 5 and the other as 6

most likely most of the inbound links are link to www.emoments.org rather than http://emoments.org

marketleap shows 12,300 links in google with www.emoments.org

the strange thing is that those are the only links.

??? Ive never seen that before.

nothing in any of the other search engines.
also alexa shows no linking sites.

Maybe emoments.org was not forwarding, but was an alias of phpnuke.org?

Yeah, I was planning on getting rid of that one tomorrow. I just checked it out and saw it going to phpnuke, is that what you guys were talking about? My friend said it was just doing that until he could figure out what to do with it.

Edit: Before I was brokering them, as of yesterday I own them.

Edit: Seeing all the uncertainty that is surrounding this, I will just PM the persom whom bidded and ask them if they would like to retract their bid or if they still want to keep it will all this in mind.

If so, I will end it there, if not, then I will force my friend to give me back my $24 lol.

I've just checked the inbound links and its really strange that links only come from Google but thats not really an issue.

The ones i checked all link to phpnuke.org, not emoments.org.

You didn't get ripped off, you only paid $8 for the name. The PR will drop really soon though.

emoments.org has been forwarded to phpnuke.org in the past.
so the PR7 belongs to phpnuke.org not to emoments.org, after the next pagerank update this PR will drop to zero, sorry to say that.

Cheer up! emoments.org is a nice name. You've got all the tools here at DnForum to make you some big bucks with it.

Go over to the Advertising forum, find someone to put a website together for you, maybe a sentimental site where people can post stories about happy touching moments in their lives. Then spend some time promoting it and get the Page rank back up above 6. Finally, after you've got a month or two of real stats, post it in the Websites for sale forum and make over a thousand bucks for the whole package.

Or, go smack your friend around and get your $24 back.

I think the links are iffy... maybe the sale should be based on the name itself. Not a bad name.
