Question Legal situation in France re: parking pages

I noticed that when you preview a French domain in Sedo, they state: "Due to the specific legal situation in France, a standard portal page will be shown for french traffic". Does anyone know what the situation is?

The standard portal is only shown to visitors coming from France (not from french speaking area like Canada, Switzerland, Belgium etc).

I assume it is due to some problems between french TM domains and targeted ads on the parking page.

Simon,

Tomsa (Guillaume) is correct in part. He's right in that it only affects traffic coming directly from France. However, it's due to a new law from the French government. If you look through Sedo's old news releases, they have a more detailed explanation.

Eric
