well worth it in my opinion.
Never been a fan of any domain with a number in it.
We all know that single-character .ca domains don't exist. But if I was to tell you verbally "oh, go to five.ca", I can guarantee you that a large percentage of those told would attempt to go to 5.ca. And see nothing. And become frustrated.
If I had to pick a number, five would definitely be one of the better ones to pick, but the $4.5k could have been spent way better, IMO.

Since 5.ca does not, and so far will not, exist and therefore cannot resolve, it would not seem to be a big issue.
And did you not learn in school that when writing you should spell out all numbers under ten?
It would be a great brand for a television network, clothing, or a newspaper - or beer.

If 'five' or 5 is your brand, it's a great domain to have. The domain already points to a site.
There was one other .ca sale in the report too, canadadrug.ca for $1250
