Well I heard nothing from cira but I did email namespro and got a response back right away saying:
Thank you for your inquiry.
Currently, CIRA is having an issue with their WHOIS data. A portion of dot-ca domains are listed as "available" even though they are actually already registered.
The following was a notice we have received from CIRA at 09:22 EST:

WHOIS Synchronization issue
Our technical staff is investigating the cause of the WHOIS synchronization issues. We are working to restore service within the hour.
I will send an update when the cause is identified.

Haven't checked all but a sampling shows mine are back to normal.

I think they do since ppl pay 10 + million a year for annual registration fee for the 1.2+ million domains registered.

Must be an expensive business to run otherwise they would probably do a commercial or two about .ca.
