Yep, as mentioned above some hyphenated domains can be worthwhile, but very few. Only where the dash makes sense and is a part of the word

Nice, now try to rank for a competitive keyword for a change

Not a lot of competition for those search phrases - and rightfully so. According to WordTracker daily searches for "custom bikini" only 17 and "used fur coat" 25, "used fur coats" 34

Oh, and the hyphen isn't helping obtain those SERPs - mind you is doesn't hurt either.

While I agree that type-in traffic isn't the only kind of traffic, hyphenated names don't rank any easier than non-hyphenated ones either and they remain second/third class domain names.

If the Hilton is full, you stay at the Travel Lodge next door.

The Porche dealer and the GM dealer both make money.

In domains, the dash might not matter much to the end-user who can't afford the letters/words without the dash. Dash domains will keep looking better over time as their non-dash versions become out-of-reach.

Have two good hyphenated domains eco-tours.ca eco-vacations.ca do not get type in traffic but think hyphenated domains can work well in print media.

Thought I'd revive this thread after hearing a dash .ca advertised on the radio yesterday. The domain is pitch-in.ca The lady in the commercial just says - "visit online at w w w dot pitch dash in dot ca". I haven't even checked out the site yet.

Wouldn't mind owning anti-aging.ca or e-commerce.ca...the dash works well for both of them.

I registered globe-trot and globetrot a couple days ago. Only my second dash domain - the other I started making into a minisite - Email Spam Filters. I've contemplated buying others but I just can't bring myself to do it.
