Sounds like the new EPP system is even a challenge to the Registrars.
There were quite a few registrars who decided not to renew their accreditation after the switchover to EPP.
CIRA required registrars to pass a "technical" and "policy" test. And the new system generally required a complete re-write of registrar's existing systems to interface with CIRA... some of which had been around for several years.
