I tried to get this domain for 3 years, but obviously my pockets weren't deep enough.. It looks like they knew what they were doing![]()

I'm Looking for Generic 1 or 2 word .ca domains with traffic. $xx,xxx budget - PM me!
Very nice sale!
I tried as well but never got a reply even at $XXXXXX. Makes me wonder why they dont bounce offers around to get the most, not that I would have went from low 6 figs to 400k but still, odd.
wow, that is a great sale... is there a link to an article or story for this?
Hey Jay, seems the whois hasnt changed yet though. I know they owned at least two other great names and all still show same whois, just realized it was in auction which ended today so obviously no time to change yet, or pay![]()

That is great! So good to see dotca receiving the credit it is due.
Let's hope that increases the value for the rest of our dotca domains.
.ca's are my fav.
Wow, what a great sale. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, well as far as the premium generics go. I don't suspect this will do much for the crappy xxxxxpoker.ca's of the world
So is this the new #2 behind jobs.ca?
Nice to see this sale for a super premium .ca. I wonder if Bodog bought it, they bought Slots.com recently and the owner is Canadian.
Yes, the timing is good for the TRAFFIC conference next week in Vancouver, which will be auctioning some .ca's.
Even if it won't cause a huge lift in the .ca market, it's good to have these kind of sales from time to time.

It is the biggest reported pure .ca sale we all know of as far as I know.
side question... I don't follow the .ca market much because of their restrictions (though I like the extension) but how much did jobs.ca go for? Oh... and poker.ca is a nice buy and sell.
I understand that jobs.ca went for 600K
Two high CPC sites for sale...BankruptcyTrustees.org and BClawyers.org
For me there can be no other consideration involved, just the name, nothing more. I dont care if its a web design, logo, software, etc, cash/name, pure.
Im sure it will be a big challenge to make this domain name profitable! Best of luck to the new owner though.

If it is an operator which is buying the registration of the domain, this is really a bargain price. When customer acquisition runs $25 USD per player, they are looking at only 16,000 new players, or in the big picture, with fewer than half that they will make a good return on the purchase.
Without knowing exactly what the traffic is like who can say but if $400k was an easy return it would have sold years ago, things havent gotten better theyve got worse.
If it was an existing poker site then it is peanuts to them but perhaps more a land grab than an expectation of real roi.
