Should we have threads removed after their 'Best Before Date'?

There was a very tiny skirmish in the .ca sales forum about a thread which was edited so that even the title no longer appeared with the domain name in the list of threads: http://www.dnforum.com/f356/jewelryi...ad-422112.html

Since that thread is now closed, this would be the best place to bring up the issue.

I think instead of getting worked up about it would be worth discussing if we should have a policy that after the original poster has decided the posted thread has already served its purpose, that then the moderator can be requested to edit out the thread or at least blank out the entries.

Such a policy could be helpful in the future, especially if there is a resale of the domain.

This is timely: CIRA is also considering whether they will look at the date when a domain is registered to the existing registrant rather than to the original date of registration of the domain. This could mean someone who purchases a domain in 2009 from someone who had the domain since 2001 could see a someone who later made a trade mark registration between 2001 and 2009 go after the domain since the effective date would be 2009, not 2001!

I agree...we should be able to delete threads where domain have been sold, have run their course or is an eminent sale outside of this forum.

Okay, so how can we then implement this?
