Y2Y.ca
Figure it may have some decent applications. Also, I just sold wirelessbanking.ca for a decent price, my first .ca sale!
(I love this thread!)

several times last year i would snipe at fastweb which makes the auction go another 20 minutes.. i made one auction go till about 11pm if im not mistaken. The other bidder gave up on one of the two after i let one slide, Possibly a mutual understanding. Either way the name i got from that was just freeking lovely, even more than lovely, one of my top 10 for sure.
Be back in an hour.. gots organizing to do.

-=DCG=- | Wow - for someone who said they were behind on their .ca's you sure are making up for lost time!
And would Nostra be Nostradamus? Did you read some cryptic message that mentioned that in early 2007 that there would be a great tbr day in some land called Canada giving you time to backorder via every registrar known to man? |

Looks like a few names caught your eye too. I just hope you leave a few scraps for us fellow Canuckers!
I have 2 confirmed myself so far and am in ~40 auctions but will only go after hand-full vigourously. Best Success to Everyone in their .CA Endeavours!! PS: Mar. 10th begins now... Boo Leafs - GO PENS!!! (hehe) PPS: Hello ianccc - nice to meet you PPPS: Quote:

Also seems like a lot of the names just listed are 'brandable' type domains, and not dictionary or keyword names.
I did some travelling during the holidays around BC and am noticing .ca domains being used EVERYWHERE.
I just dropped PokerAffiliate.ca and Vitimins.ca, I see they will be in next week's TBR. Both didn't get much traffic, but I was half planning on renewing vitimins, but in the end decided there are better names available to reg that aren't typos. I have a bunch of renewals coming up Jan/Feb/March! Quote:

From what I remember reading in an interview you were kind of lukewarm on country code domains. Not that I mind ofcourse, the more interest in .ca the better for all of us here.

-=DCG=- | Adam, I'm not sure who Nostra is but frankly there wasn't 500+ worthwhile names in that drop. And definitely not worth the $60 each that Pool or fastserver charges.
I had 4 top wants, 2 of which I'll probably go to the wall for in the auctions and 100 or so I intended to check after the drop and pick up any unregistered. None of them were available and now I know why.
If you're looking for traffic I think you're going to be hugely disappointed. If you're looking for future resales then maybe the grab everything approach might work.
Or maybe you do have more $$$$ than God and don't give a ******

To build a .ca complementary presense to existing or expected Websites; or to build new sites and market them; or to sell/trade them or just to gain intinsic value - aside from these few, there are many reasons/possibilities to owning .ca domains (like any other Ext.) Quote:

I would see Royal Bank or BOM using names like RBCmobile.ca or BOMmobile.ca. Still your names are good general terms a bank could use in advertising, but value would be limited because they could choose other alternatives with their own brand name in it. Just my opinion... there is always the chance that new banks will enter Canada and could want a good general term for advertising. I think the best names on your list are mobilebank and mobilebanking. good luck!

Still - I've managed to peg down a couple more including 327.ca so even us smaller players can still walk away with something without busting our banks. |
