its hard not to be addicted...
We should start the DA - domainer anonymous. I'm hook too.
Siber got a lot of the 'realty' names for me - canmore, banff, jasper, sarnia, fredericton, plus grosse and bc1. You used to be able to get city names with 'homes' and 'realestate' in the drop, but now hardly ever. 'Realty' is third best and those are going now. They are great memorable domains for any realtor to use in those cities, or to build a real estate website for the city.

I used to own a few geo realty domains and were very easy to sell to end user.

lol - often when I'm in a waiting room or somewhere where there's a sign with a bunch of words, I will look at each word and wonder "if I could pick just one of those words as a domain, which would be the most valuable....?" lol

quality keeps dropping and competition is drying up...I would guess there is about 10 to 15 of us who are really in the game week in week out
A year ago I used to try for 4-5 names a week. Now I am lucky to try for 1 every 2 weeks.
I have several realty domain names and tried to sell them to realtors. I put an email package together explaining (for dummies) how they could get benefit from owning a generic, search-friendly, easy to remember name, and it would be forwarded to their current website. No work, just benefits.
My typical response was, "I already have a website". As I continued to bang my head against the wall, I explained (for idiots) how in one step they could forward the domain name to their current website. I would even help them. My response was "I don't want 2 websites, it's too much work".
So why do I continue to bang my head against the wall. Because it feels good when I stop.
No one said realtors were the smartest of the bunch. From my experience they are kind of cheap and conservative. Perhaps try a different class of people. In January I am going to try something with marketing dotca's and I'll let you know how it goes.
.ca's are my fav.
If I were a realtor in Canada I'd want to own the .com and .ca for 'CityName' + homes, realestate and realty for all the cities I was selling in.
Some are already doing this, many also just use their own name as a domain - which is great if you're Dave Smith or Mary White (easy to remember), but not if you have a difficult name to spell, or a long name.
When you look through a real estate magazine or advertising, the domains you remember are the city + homes, realestate or realty. They stand out and are memorable. And they also look great on a business card. I think younger or new realtors will start taking advantage of these domains eventually to break into their markets faster.
So I'm placing my bets now thinking this trend will pick up. If not, they are easy domains to develop, which I've already done with some of my better ones.
