Hi MikeyBoy,
I post the list for those who did not have time to go threw it all.
D.
I liked living and was in there early on but didnt have any interest to get into a bidding war...obviously at least 2 other people thought othewise.
On a semi related note and I dont want to suggest anything about the living auction because I dont have any facts to suggest anything improper...however its time for the serious drop registrars to have open auctions where we see who the other bidders are. This closed format does nothing but create mistrust, and given what we have seen with snapnames lately, this kind of transparency is a must.
Agree, what do you think would be the best way to go? Have the bidder's name? Anything else?
Bidders name I think would be a great first step....not asking for the stars but I think this is reasonable.
What do you think about if during the auction you see only the bidder ID but after the auction you can see the bidders' profile.
that sounds like a good solution Belzi
What do we define as profile.
CIRA is extremely strict on whois data being correct so I assume this would be the bidders/winners complete info?
May help stop non CAD presences from bidding.
If there is a bidders ID - after the auction we would know who they are for upcoming auctions as well. There is no need to hide who someone is. All we need is an actual username that cannot be changed.
For example Pool will not allow you to change your username.
Thats fine but I dont see how it stops non CAD presenses and or shilling, what would stop them from opening another and another?
This solves this to a large degree when REAL CAD info is exposed, it stops fakes![]()
Well i think that is the responsibility of the actual backordering services...
I would hope not anyone can just make an account and bid on a .ca ...although that is possible.
