Theories wanted on why this .ca get 1000 visitors a day?

Hi there, I own arbiter.ca. When I first owned it not much traffic. Then ever since last summer it's risen to about 1000 unique visitors daily... one of my best .ca ever. What gives?

Any theories about where all the mystery traffic is coming from? I'm stumped, but don't want all that traffic to go to waste. Need to build something if only I knew what the relevant content was.

You need to install something to see where the traffic is coming from. Even something like the free service at statcounter.com would help you figure it out pretty quickly.

Smartname gives you what keyword they come in on and the referring urls and the country,

Use that data to figure it out.

Thanks very much for all the ideas and suggestions. Sounds like I need to do a bit more detective work... review of stats shows mostly typin traffic, so that's good to see.

Well the ads seem quite accurate for the site. Are you getting a lot of CTR and earnings. That would be a huge clue as to whether they're looking for the obvious.
Some stat programs have a hard time sorting out "bot" traffic from surfers. You could have a bot problem burning bandwidth. I had 82,000 visits in one day last month
from a bot that went wild. All showing as uniques on the affiliates stat panel.

Good suggestion DropWizard, bot traffic is definitely worth considering as a possibility too (though I'm still hoping it's real). Earnings aren't as high as I'd expect given the traffic... that's what sparks my interest in getting to the bottom of this to optimize it.
