Little success here. Small market, restrictions, competition from .com.
Getting end user sales is hard enough, and flipping is not made easy due to the arcane transfer process.

We all know .com's domain flipping is possible to make good $$$ - but any great success stories with .CA domains?
I am new to the game and looking for some INSPIRATION from the CANADIANS!

NameNewsletter.com - free lists of available domain names
ZoneFiles.net (beta) - ccTLD and gTLD droplists
so transferring a .CA i guess is not the same process as a .COM?

I seen a guy on here "NAMESFOX" always selling .CA domains...hope he can chime in
Ditto for what SDSINC said. (Interesting that he/she has the Iceland flag in profile hehe)
No, it isn't the same process as a .com , well not quite the same. It's especially arduous when you have to push a name between registrars... and it always involves the Canadian Registry (CIRA) regardless of who your registrar is.
Reminds me somewhat of the gTLD (.com/net/org) back in 98-00 a bit.
That said, there are plenty of opportunities for good names.
IMHO, .ca's are better for developing or selling to an end-user that values the .ca brand (i.e. a company that wishes to leverage the Canadian identity)...

Hi, you might want to open this topic in the .ca discussion section. You will get a lot more feedback there. I bought a domain here for $100 and sold it for 8.5k a year later. I think you might want to invest in better quality domains to better flipping profit. Me personally I much rather develop a domain then trying to flip it. I don't think nobody does a living at flipping .ca domains.
The best domains for lower price are the domains dropping every week. There are always about 50 pretty good one that can be flipped by contacting the right end users. Check tbr.ca for more info on domains to be released.
You might not make a living at it but sure makes a nice hobby.
D.
Agreed about moving this to the .ca section... perhaps a mod could oblige.
Wow - nice job on the $100 -> $8.5K in 1 year conversion. Was it developed and sold as a site, or you scouted out the right end-user ?

not JP!![]()
I'm buying credit, banking, loan, insurance related generics in .com, .net, .org with high search volumes/traffic. Will consider typos too! - PLEASE PM with name, info, & asking price!
Make a living year to year flipping .ca's? - probably not unless you have really good .ca domains or the right buyers come along. To make a living, better to get into development.
Make extra money on the side? sure you can with .ca's.
I just had a sale last week for under $1000 that started from an email enquiry. When it closes I'll give some details. I've had luck with picking up TBR domains and getting offers within a year.

Just checked out their site, looks like a large office furniture company. The big question is how did the negotiation go, how did you agree to a price?
