We saw a half-dozen six-figure sales this week and all of those domains were purchased by the same person. In fact the Aspen, Colorado based buyer wound up spending over $1.1 million on a total of 11 domains for a cryptic new project his company is working on. He wound up single-handedly accounting for 8 of the week’s 10 biggest reported sales.
In other categories, Doctor.net topped the Global Contenders chart and Great Britain’s .co.uk enjoyed a romp on the Country Code chart, taking a half dozen positions, including #1. You can get all of the details here:

Also new at DN Journal is a profile of Sendori.com, a company with a new domain monetization model that they say offers a cure for the declining PPC revenue blues. You can read that story here:

Ha ha ha, 8008.com - looks like 'BOOB', ha ha ha....
Looking at the landers on the sites, and seeing what TJ Demas does for a living, my guess(es) would be;
A. Discovery of a new element of the universe; a hole, or a kink etc.
B. A system of predicting future trends along the lines of Fibonacci retracements.
C. Planning a competition - the winner must find the answer to an unsolved mathematical conundrum.
As a marketing exercise, it's got my attention anyway!
Oh, no!
TJ Demas just bought TJD * com from me through Afternic. The price wasn't bad ($12.6 K), but I wish I had known how many $ he was throwing around - I surely would have held out for more!![]()

T.J. is obviously going to be a subject of considerable curiosity after these purchases. Definitely marches to a different drummer, but he is a very interesting individual. There is more on his background here:

Never question the motives of a Greek loaded with money. He can burn it if he wishes to(opa!)
Indeed, jaw-dropping sales and a boost for the industry.
Based on my research and traders experence it appears there is a SuperSymmetric pattern to it which likely involves trading the financial markets using symmetry combined with time and price cycles and possibly numerology too.
I saw this on e8.com but they didn't release anything near the figures..Didn't know it was 1.1mill. He looks to be a very well educated individual and is probably spending money he made from the markets anyways...He is probably pissed 888.com is taken by a casino and not a fellow domainer. I remember seeing something about his business becoming incorporated on August 8, 2008
Good stuff thanks for sharing
I don't get it.. what is so special about those numbered domains?
...
Aspen Edge Research, LLC, was established in May 2003 as an independent, buy-side focused, equity research consulting firm providing targeted stock analyses to institutional investment managers and high net-worth individuals.
This could explain why numbers is very important to him
The answer is Extra Time.
I guess they found a way to expand time :o
Looks like he may have shifted focus from trading/investing in the financial markets to trading/investing in domains. I've been trading financial markets daily for many years and have seen how domain returns can far exceed those of the market, with one exception, you need large domain volume. I have experienced returns of up to 30,000% a year from a single domain in PPC and 7000% in a single domain sale. So far I have yet to match those %'s in a single stock/option or futures trade![]()
my guess is a real time financial trading platform but just a wild guess
strange
