I think I'm going to just keep the domain. I admit being out of my element here, you guys are all experts etc., I don't make buying and selling domains my life's work so I don't know the reasons, but I have a hard time seeing that the doug.com is owned by the domain equivalent of a ticket scalper, and is only offered at "domain auctions" for a "starting bid" of $50,000...yet looking for interest in the fixed price forum for the .info equivalent at 1/50th of that amount resulted in no interest and about a half dozen very nasty PMs telling me how crazy I am for thinking I would sell my domain for $1000.
So, I figured, the .info is worth less than 1/50th of the .com, I suppose I can get that. I came to this forum to see what offers I might get.
But $50? I can't wrap my brain around that. If the .info is worth 1/1000th of the .com value of the same domain, I openly will offer $5000 for sex.info if the owner is on here...
I somehow doubt, though, that the whover the owner of sex.info is would see an offer of $5000 for the domain as anything but an insult.
So, I'm not going to bother. Maybe you can only sell a domain if you're one of the insiders that seem to control all the domains, or something. $50 isn't worth the time it would take me to transfer the domain. If my domain is worth that little, so be it, I'll just keep posting personal blog crap on it once a year or so.
I would say its worth more than $50 for sure. But you did not set a range or a bin, so that invites a low offer, doesn't it? If you went to a garage sale, and saw something you liked that was not priced, would you head straight to your highest offer? I dont think so!
Why would anyone start high?
Set a minimum bid and see what happens. It just typing.
I'll give you $100
However, you can not compare this name to something like sex.info, doug.com/net/org
Some people like .info more than .org. There are interesting discussions about google ranking some TLDs differently than others. I think you can compare. Someday there might be a model to compare the different TLD's, but it would vary by market.
