Yes, it is radiculous not to receive any info about our applications.

dotasia.org is really disorganised.

Are you mistaking with March 17, 2009 for the auction, not 2008, 2009 ?

many companies in Asia are still relatively not awared of the domain industry. Many Asia companies only buy .com or .com.ccTlds... So, there are many names available.

These are only for application during made sunrise period. We haven't heard anything from them yet about our applications.

"adomaindeal" , are you sure you got shoes.asia ? Because you have to check with following site to see whether a domain name is restricted for governmental reserve only.

http://whois.asia/
it is trademarked and there is a linkshare affiliate company in japan which is owned by a quite powerful company called "Rakuten".

Here is the copyright information:

Here is linkshare in Japan (which is asia):

And here is their information about their companies (check the bottom):

just be careful

All the auctions which currently run are still from the sunrise period which ended a while back. Compared to the landrush there where more or less no duplicated applications during the sunrise period, therefore it can go a (long) while till all lundrush auctions will be over. There were never any dates published from the registry when the auctions will start.

Hello

I would like to inform you I got 9 of my 148 ordered .asia domains yesterday.

They are already active and running in my portfolio (GoDaddy).
Of course I suppose nobody else asked for these domains but I'm quite happy with what i get (can easily develop some good websites with these domains).

For the other 139 (really english generics) I think they will get all in auction (anyway I dont think i will participate in such cash-wasting practice).

Hope search engines will have some consideration for these domains. But i dont think. In my opinion .asia will be good only for branding purpose. But from a SEO point of vie they are totally waste (comparing to .com or any specific ccTLD).

Cheers
Irongloves

ok, so lets say that we have a domain that is going to an auction. if we are outbid or refuse to participate in the auction, do we still have to pay for the initial fee when we paid for the domain?

go to http://www.registry.asia/ there you find a countdown when the live registration starts (1 day 3 hours and 44 minutes after this post was written).

That depends on the registrar you used, that would have been stated in the terms at the time you places your order. EuroDNS for example will refund.

Just got some emails from the registry that I got some domains. Therefor when you get domains assigned for which you applied during the lundrush period and you were the only applicant then you get an email directly from the registry (didn't got any update from the registrar yet).

I registered my domains with GoDaddy when they still had a high registration fee (in fact i paid $19.95/year for each of these domains registered as they charged that much in February).

Anyway they stated they refund back the money you pay for the domains and that are not registered.

I dont know if all registrars do like this...but I think they do.

Take Care

I would say DirectI / Resellerclub has one of the best prices at the moment.
