I just got ESOL.asia ( English Speakers of Other Languages )and as i have a training company that made perfect sense.
robmac, thanks for your repeat
But what the mean "she.asia < perfect", it that means she.asia is a perfact domain?
The truth is, English is still the language of Asia, because ...
Sad but true, those "former" colonialists were smart enough to lay the groundwork for generations to come. English is SO deeply rooted in many parts of Asia (such as India and Hong Kong) that it is STILL used EXTENSIVELY in both the public and private sectors NOW.
When a Japanese business man meets with his Chinese counterpart, what language do you think they will be speaking to each other? ENGLISH! Surprise?
But it's true that most Asians would not consider themselves "Asians" (except those living abroad perhaps). However, there has been a steadily growing trend in Southeast Asia that the younger generations are becoming more and more assimilated (e.g. watching the same TV drama series, some of which even starred by multi-national casts and dubbed into native languages when aired in respective countries).
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, Nameslave unrepentantly embraces Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard using the #Minimalist method inspired at least partly by the music of Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
yes .asia many are invested to keep for the furture as they will raise on pricing for years to come for sure one of these days you will see 1 word .asia premium name can be $50,000 to $200,000 and selling as it going to be a huge markets takes time to grow it will come many domainers are heavy invested in .asia and are buying cheap deals to sell later for much more.

If you think time is on your side look at .cc or .biz
They are pretty much as worthless as they were at the beginning of the century.
Time does not always help extensions to mature. How many are left to rot after the initial frenzy.
With the upcoming release of possibly tens of new extensions .asia will be further marginalized, just like other extensions that have failed to gain significant market- and mindshare.

Experts predict that 95 percent of all South Korean households will be wired for broadband Internet by the year 2010. Ninety-four percent of Japanese homes will have broadband access, with Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia expected to be nearly 80 percent wired. By 2010, China will have replaced the US as the largest Internet market in the world.†
The .ASIA top-level domain (TLD) is an ICANN-sponsored domain extension that represents the Asia-Pacific region. A .ASIA domain gives you exposure to the region as a whole, as opposed to individual countries, such as a .JP or .CN extension. This is particularly useful for companies that conduct business in different Asian countries, because securing the .ASIA domain gives you regional recognition, makes it easier to manage your Web presence, and increases your exposure to the growing number of Internet users in the Asia-Pacific region.
If you or one of your contacts lives in the Asia-Pacific region, you can register a .ASIA domain name.

I think that .asia was meant for commerce between countries and the region. I visit Thailand every year, and what I see happening there is tourists from Japan speaking English to Thais who also speak English. French speaking English to Japan and Thai people. So English is one of the go between languages in the area and world for sure. Those with money that want to do business -- import/export, retail (silver, gold jewelry), tourism, etc -- will reach out in a common language.
Many Thai websites have Romanized characters as domain names like teenee.com.
