I too am positive about .asia. Many reasons. There's the demand and there's the money. And just compare (or don't compare!) the speed .in domains were registered to the last 10 days of .asia . No comment necessary I think ! And Asia has so much diversity. That's all filling up the namespace.

I'd like to ask: which year in dot com terms do we have for dot asia now regarding broadness/depth of registered domains? I'd guess "it's 2002" or later.

.asia is a good tld for seo to build your website that's all I can say. Especially if it's asia related, it can help your site get up there in keyword rankings.

I was pretty excited about the .ASIA tld. I've squared these ones down:

    ADULTDANCER.ASIA
    DREAMTRIPS.ASIA
    EXOTICDANCING.ASIA
    FREEOFFER.ASIA
    GENTLEMENCLUB.ASIA
    PRIVATEESCORT.ASIA
    YOUROWN.ASIA

One thing upon bulk researching for availability on DomainMonster.com, the ones that I choose not to get.... guess who had them registered the next day? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Don't you think the dotasia organisation make the whole .asia bigger then it is? I mean..the time that you could buy pizza.com for 20 dollar is over, isn't it?

Well, depends on the person or business, you think?

I have researched many Japanese names and found that a majority of these japanese companies already regged their names.
I live in Japan, I like the extension, and i like to collect. So I buy them regardless of what others think.

If you do some research, maybe you can find your own conclusion rather than relying on what others think. A lot was said about other extensions and that cause problems on the forum. It was all complaining about "who knew more than the other" and was a complete waste of time.

i got another one www.p4c.asia (PAY FOR CLICKS)

As of today, no major word/words are available in .ASIA, even the names which are still available in .INFO, .org & .IN, those names are not available in .ASIA

It seems few BIG INVESTORS have already invested millions of dollars in .ASIA

Be ready for the next big auctions for .asia domains, there is one .asia domain on sedo, which already got 2 bids so far.

BEST OF LUCK to all .asia domain holders, you have made the right decision by registering .asia domains

Thats cool. and there are many .coms i would have never even thought about buying as they are stupid too.

But thats .com and this is .asia. if you do a search of asian countries extensions, then its best to get a .asia. There are a few .asia I bought were ALL of the asian country extensions were gone, but there were still .biz and .org. Surely no one would register (for an example) "letsgood.com" but such words do exist in asia. It is the simple combination of English words that do make sense in asia. For "letsgood.com", .cn, .com, and .co.cn are taken but .biz, .net, etc are taken.

Of course it doesnt make sense for English speakers, but it does for an area where there are more people on the planet.

Now i have given out a little secret in regging asian domains.

as for the others that i personally bought, I bought them for me. as for the ones i got in my sig, that is what i do and asia is where i live, so that fits me perfectly.

I noticed you've edited your last reply. If that had anything to do with my previous post, I just want to make it clear that I wasn't necessarily referring to you, but rather to this whole thread in general and certain cherries posted throughout it.

Letsgood.com might make sense when written in an appropriate language, however, it makes no sense in English (regardless of how much sense it might make in some other language). Remember, literal (word-for-word) translations aren't always a good idea... That's just my opinion of course. Hopefully, you guys will prove me wrong in the long run... Good luck!

    Restecpa,
oh no! i only put up the names for a short time. It has nothing to do with your last post. your post is productive and i do see it as a professional standpoint. no worries

"Remember, literal (word-for-word) translations aren't always a good idea..."

When I use to teach English, I often told my students the same thing I agree that its not a good idea to translate word-for-word. There are a lot of tv commericals that have slogans that make no sense at all. There is even a website that makes fun of these (and which i have posted many times). It is such a fun site and a hell of a laugh!

    www.engRish.com

I look forward to reading your posts in the future
