Pretty decent considering the economic climate but just because these sell for decent amounts doesn't mean the .me's you got a reg fee are worth any more.

A prime example of psychology being used against the seller.

Not really. Its just common sense. These domains were held back because they are great uses for the extention.

    These sales are not impressive.

You would think rent and loan would be the highest on this list ...but in fact..they fetched very low. This shows you that the reseller market for .me's are weak.

I would partially agree with 'theinvestor. Any domain launch is slow in the beginning but as time grows, good domains run out and more sites come up, making it more worth.

Moreover, I doubt how .me's are represented in TRAFFIC auction. I havent participated in Premium Live Auction but for Extended Auction there is no way to see .me's at one place, no way to filter or search .me's

I disagree. Look at the sentence construction of those phrases.

    "rent.me"

People are not usually rented, objects are.
The phrase "rent me" is being spoken from the point of view of the object or thing being rented. This is not intuitive, though "rent me" does make a complete thought.

    "loan.me"

The same can be said about this domain.
People are not the ones being loaned out.
People are the ones asking for loans.
In that respect, "loan me" is actually an incomplete thought.
One could say "loan me some cash" or "loan me your car" but "loan me" by itself is not complete.

Now take the domain name "date.me"

This is an excellent domain name.
It's a popular, short, easy to remember, highly-searched word.
The phrase "date me" is a complete sentence.
There is a subject and a verb.
It's also a suggestion, or even a command.
You are suggesting (or telling) someone to date you.
The word "date" also multiplies the personal nature of .me, making the selling price of $70,000 a steal.

Hi Ordersomething, Nice analysis and arguments.

But, I searched "loan me" phrase in google. Lot of people use this phrase for e.g 'Can someone loan me xxxxxx money?' You dont need to say complete sentence 'loan me some cash' , just loan.me would do. It may not be as charismatic as Date.Me but still a great domain name.

Rent.me , we always rent objects/things not humans. A house can say 'rent.me' or 'buy.me'. I think its good domain name.

As the nearly only ones most of the .Me sold way over opening Bid /Range with top Date.Me $70,000.

If you look at how the others .com and other domains did
    .Me did extremely well!!

I think Loan.me and rent.me however sold to cheap
but think it was because they where 2 of the absolute first lots on auction number 4 and 5 and if you looked only ½ of the online users had joined at that time.

But otherwise a very good auction for .Me if you compare to other domains on auction

If you want to compare new extentions, .mobi had two six figure sales in its first traffic auction.

Yes but the BIG diffrence then and compare to now is
peaple are now holding back on buying/investing right now because of the economy crisis.
Thats also one of reasons so few .com where sold at this traffic.

but still the .Me domains did very well on this trafic auction compare to all the other lots

I have no dought that a fantastic domain like .dating.me would also have gone for six figure sales if it was not for the current economy crisis.

Peaple are simply holding litle back right now to see what happens next weeks/months with the economy.

You are missing the whole point of this extension. If you think that it's all about ME and that you can't make a business out of these domains, you are really mistaken.

Loan.me is a perfect business website for loaning anything. Anywhere from money to goods.

Rent.me also , same as above. You can rent me ... ME being an object. Such as a house or an apartment.

Those two are by far the best domains there from a business opportunity.

Sorry, but if you think date is a bigger term than the word LOAN. You are missing something. Loan is not popular and easy to remember? There are more people who want loans than a date. Sorry, but i'd buy Loan or Rent over Date in a heartbeat. That's my opinion...and if this extension was actually going anywhere, everyone would buy loan and rent first also. It just goes to show the value of the extension and what people are looking at.

Well i think date.me is way better than dating.me. Dating.me doesn't make much sense.

If someone offered to sell you "canadian.me" would you buy it?
    For how much?
    For what reason?

    I wouldn't buy it...it has no value.

Just because DomainsInc is canadian..or i am canadian. Does not mean i am going to buy an extension of .me. Remember .me is a ccTLD. What value does it have? I do not collect domains and frame them. I buy and sell.
