Angry Sticky!! $1 Domain Auction Guidelines

All domains listed in here must have a $1 starting bid and must be sold, no BIN allowed. These will be true auctions. Auctions must be at least 72 hours and end time must be stated in the listing.

Please follow all other Platinum Sales/Advertising Rules as well.

Thanks

Is it allowed to use "72 hours from last bid" as End Time ?

One thing that is not stated in the format. Can the OP make the increases any amount after the starting BID of $1? For example, would a $5 increment be acceptable or is it $1 increments only? Thanks!

PS.... This is a nice compliment to the sale section at DNF.

No "72hrs after last bid" allowed, as a fixed end time should be stated.

I believe Adam instituted this section to keep all bids starting at $1, though I don't see a problem with a bidder offering more than $1.

There may be a conflict with raising the increment level by the OP though, since we already have a regular auction section aside from this one where the OP can set the minimum and bid increment levels.

Hope that answers, if not.....ask again :)

One thing that is not clear and I just thought of it. What if the winner of the auction is a non-verified DNF member with no iTrader and a non-verified Paypal account, do we have to accept those offers because they won? It can put the seller in a bit of a bind. Does the seller have a right to refuse bids? Figured it would be to clear this up before it becomes an issue. Thanks!

I think we can solve this issue by adding lines like (5+ iTrader only) (Verified members only) etc..

I think we should add...

No PM's for auction items in this forum. Just to be fair to all parties.

72 hours is too long. People bid and forget....
What if you wanted to do a 1 Hour auction ? That would be fun, quick and interesting.

What about auction snipping? Can I add 5-10 minutes after the last bid?

Also if an auction does not receive bids for like 24 hours, can the op cancel it?

This is a very good idea for quick sales of domains. However, I think Adam should require that all bidders have at least a 2+ itrader rating, and verified Paypal accounts, and leave it to the seller to decide whether to accept the final bid based on those requirements.

Good job, I see this auction section as becoming very popular very quickly!!

I may be wrong, but it looks like draggar broke the rule...

http://www.dnforum.com/f556/84596-co...ad-333844.html

No fixed end to Draggar there. See the "anti-sniping in effect" term? Draggar did this to protect his auction, which I strongly agree.

So, what now, biggedon?

Draggar, we need to hear your voice too, if you don't mind.

Rule #4:
http://www.dnforum.com/f556/1-auctio...ad-325885.html

The standard to this rule, if its not exactly specified by the thread starter is this - 4 minutes remaining, bid placed, 5 minutes get added, so clock gives 9 total minutes till end of auction. If 1 minute or less is remaining, 5 minutes get added, so the clock gives 6 total minutes before auction closes. This is the standard to be used whereby anti-snipe is in place (and ONLY if anti-snipe is in place as would be stated by the auction holder). If anti-snipe is NOT clearly specified, it is not in effect. Anti-snipe is a new procedure in effect as of April 10, 2008 (4/10/2008).

Thanks, Draggar.

I didn't see that coming. My bad.

So, 5 minutes is max? "24-hours-after-last-bid" sounds like a nice rule though... Oh well, congrats on your sales there!

Draggar: You congrats me for a $6 sales!?!?!?

Congrats to Carter then.

NP.

Hey, it's $6 I didn't have yesterday!

I think the issue is that when you say "24 hours after last bid" it is really not an auction but when you anti-sniping (which is only 5 minutes) it is still an auction but prevents people from bidding at the last second to outbid everyone else.
