Thread: ABout 5/day

    Guest

About 5/day - totally practical trading.

    Hi folks,

we are one of the "unsung" domain name trading groups, tending to remain quiet in the background, and selling a hell of alot of domains.

On average, we move between 5 and 10 every day, and have a formula that works well for us ( no, you can't have it :>)

What would like to know is this; is anybody interested in co-developing GOOD domain name software? There is plenty of mediocre, slow, and limited software out there, but until now, there have been no real programming "hotshots" in the task of coding for us as domain traders collectively.

I own most EVERY program developed for domain name hunting and expired lists to date, and they are toys compared to equivalent software in other fields.

I have located a programmer that easily puts any of the current software to shame, and he has proven it to me. As i write this, microsoft techs are trying to figure out how he can run close to 10,000 search threads on a windows machine and remain stable.

I would like to develop new software, but have little intention of distributing it to large numbers of people and cutting my own throat. That is another difference with software that has been sold to date, it is avilable to everyone. I prefer to maintain my edge, thanks, and will keep the Enterprise version ( cell phone interface, auto-register, profiles, blazing-fast speed, etc)

If you would like to work with us on this, drop us a line via the link at http://www.joepro.com

As a hint here, the tidbit of coding he sent me as a sample will search on 5 search engines 1,000 domain names in the time it take domain retriever or popular domains to search 60, and he assures me he can run it 5 to 10X faster yet! This is on my junky PII PC on ME OS. He also uses the CORRECT search engines, not Alexa ( 4 month old data ), DMOZ ( constantly flushed) or AOL ( no interlinking) although all are an option..

We dont have a deal yet, as I need other backers. No more than 3 or 4 though.

I guarantee this... when this is done, it will be untouchable, and the owners will dominate the MIDDLE sector of the domain trading world ( where many mid and low-priced names are traded, vice 1 or 2 ringers, where everybody is trying to operate, and losing thier money right now, and even on this forum.

As a side note, we have been trading domains for about 4 years now, no million $ ones, but many in the $100s, a few in the $1,000s and up to $10,000. BUT, we move alot of them. We know what to look for, and it has almost NOTHING to do with what the average trader seeks. This is evident by the current software functionality.

    Cheers!

    Question

A magic formula that allows you to move 5-10 domains everyday for four years?

4, 5, and 6 figure sales? You must be doing great.

    Why do you need partners?

    Talking I stand corrected

I thought that I read 100s as 100s of thousands. Thanks for clarifying this, prasit.

And JoePro - I see the sales and believe them. At your prices, I may grab a few...

    Good domain software.

As stated in a previous thread, it is not possible
to create ultra fast software which can be used on
    personal computers.

Ultra fast scripts however, are possible and very
    real (they HAVE been developed).

We're launching NameSniper pretty soon, a service
similar to Domain-Retriever in many aspects.

The average search rate of Yahoo listed names is
10,000 per second. This means that you can scan
the entire Day Expired directory for Yahoo listings in
about 3 seconds. Not to say that Domain-Retriever
is not a GOOD program, it simply cannot achieve
faster rates on the average PC.

We have scripts that do the same for Dmoz, and
    LookSmart at even faster rates.

Optional Popularity and Availability features have
also been added, which slow down the search (to
about 200-1500/second) but return very valuable information (
link popularity, availability, registration info, etc).

A few DNForum members are beta testing these
services which will be available to a limited number
of people in the next 2 weeks or so.

    A screenshot is provided below.

    http://www.domain-retriever.com/ss2.gif (search selection)
    http://www.domain-retriever.com/ss3.gif (results)
    http://www.domain-retriever.com/ss1.gif (results with popularity/availability checks)

The point of this reply is this: Good "scripts" have already
been developed and they are in use by several
individuals around the world. Being 60 times faster than
DR is nothing to be proud of, as your competitors use
scripts that are 1,000 to 5,000 times faster.

    Thanks,
    Luc L.

    Domain-Retreiver,

Can you instantenously register an expired domain by your software? I am going to receive my test software soon and it does that. And how do you obtain expired domains. what is your method? Looking for nameservers or what else?

Yeah - so how can serious domain ppl talk about high speed scanning of directories?? I know google blocked one of the biggest isp's in germany for a while - and soon others will follow this example - rather use a windows program with max 4 to 5 threads - even then yahoo can hit u with a temporary block for a couple of minutes

    Regarding Ban issue:

It is impossible to get banned from any directory using the
NameSniper technology. We Guarantee this 100%.

    Sir,

Our software does NOT automatically register
names. This is because it would be an unfair advantage
to the users with faster Internet connections. We
will have domain monitoring services set up on NameSniper
which will perform tasks similar to the ones you mentioned.

    Thanks,
    Luc L.

Google already penalizes and blocks IP adresses and domains of people submitting or checking this way.

    Nope, not using DR.

I have bought and used YahTool and Domain Find, and banned from Yahoo on both.

What's up with DomainReriever software? You promise I won't be banned?

Why did you write to BG to tell him about this? Maybe you should sell him the technology.

I have a software that could do the same thing as DR. Speed-wise we'll have to see, but dare say it could at least meet up and probably beat it - without getting banned

Feel free to PM me if anyone is interested. I'm working on a software package and would like to see how the buyer market is like - and if there are a lot, I will reduce the price for DnF members and it will act as a motivator for me to complete it sooner.

Also, DR, last I check I don't remember Lycos allowing automatic searches. Might want to double check that
