Basically, your domain expires or is close to it, they snatch it during the 45 days allowed to a registrar, and if it makes any money, you're screwed.

I'm surprised 1and1.com has not been mentioned. It's by far the cheapest at only $5.99. Thats where most of my domains are registered, over 600 names.

From what I heard (as personally I've never used 1and1), it seems many people have had problems with 1and1, though their prices are low, you do get what you pay for. Do a research on these domain forums and you might get some idea

I'm reselling both Onlinenic and Directi, if you have a low budget, i would try Onlinenic, you get the lowest pricing with only 669$ (100 domains), as my budget increased, i got an account at Directi, that give better pricing but needed to pay more in advance.

Stay away from onlinenic, the worst registrar. another terrible one is registerfly.

According to their website you have to pay a flat fee of $1595 or deposit $6995.00 to get even the $6.95 pricing.

To my knowledge eNom does not offer a $6.49 price ... they had a $6.50 promotional price on transfers but that expired a couple of months ago.

There are some resellers selling legacy $6.50 subaccounts, but I understand eNom is about to clamp down on that secondary market soon.

We use DirectI/Resellerclub and have fond their service fine. Many people slate them due to "poor control" or "poor support"...these people are usually people who haven't used them for a good few years. Recently RC/DI has picked up very rapidly and their service is fast becoming very desirable.

The only thing we have found to be a problem is their API - it lacks functionality as you cant import users to a "new" system.

^ Ditto, likewise -- keeping the prices low is the key part. However not so low that the customer thinks "This is too good to be true".

We did use GoDaddy once before, however found that you end up competing with them. Their system was also very restrictive at the time. As far as I know it still is.
