I know TV's and pinball machines will sell. Never tried a domain. You may have some luck with geo specific domains, but I would guess zero response 99.9% of the time.
This is way to fun
I have sold domains on there before under business opportunities before to new users and gotten good money for mid rated names with maybe a basic website etc.
You have to be lucky enough to find the right person looking at the right time.
Just gotta watch out for the tattle-tales over there. They like to report posts that violate the TOS there. Selling domains is apparently against the TOS.
But I always check CL for domain listings in case there's something interesting available for a good price.
Is there a way to check multiple regions with one search?

I tried this once with no results, though this was early on in my domaining days when i was a just a noob. might be time to revisit the old idea w/ some new tricks

From what I've been Craigslist is far from a buyer's market-at least for domains. Pretty much everything with a price on it is $xxx or $x,xxx and for terrible names IMO.
Would probably only work for geo domains as you can't post the same listing to multiple markets. Otherwise it would be a guessing game as to which would be the best market to post your domain in.

I just took a quick look through their TOS and didn't see any indication that domains are not allowed.
I have purchased several domains on CL in the past few years, but haven't tried to sell any. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has had success with selling domains on CL.
Visit the CL forums and search for "domain". You'll find all kinds of discussions about this issue.
I'm not sure that the TOS specifically mentions domains (I actually doubt it) but I believe there is language in there that refers to offering products or services that are not available in a specific geographical location, or something like that.
they do make a big stink if you try to post a wanted or for sale thread for the same item in different regions. that probably why geo is your best bet, since you just post a new york domain to the new york board. but trying to sell the same generic across multiple cities will just get all of your posts yanked. speaking from experience btw. not from selling domains but posting a wanted ad for content writers in different cities

Wow, the response to this thread is great! Keep it coming.
Thank you for the idea Chrisb72. I tried listing some domains in computers/technology. Now that I think about it, this does make more sense.
Pokerpie, I'm not sure what you mean, but it seem like Craigslist doesn't delete your post if you wait until the first one lapses. I don't know if this violates the TOS or not.
i tried to sell several geo-specific names within the last year and got no responses. using craig's list seems like a good idea on its face, tho, so i'm sure i'll give it another try.
