    Cybersquatting: Funniest story

Many don't like them, but those people have taught the big corporations a good lession.

I find that the things they do are quite amusing though.
    For example:
    1. Point the domains to xxx or casino sites.
    e.g. www.singtel-mobile.com
    2. Register the "typo" version of the name.
    e.g. harryporter.com, haryporter.com
    3. Register the generic TLD of the domains.
    e.g. xyz.co.uk, xyz.com
    4. Point a bad domain name to the official domain name.
    e.g. f**kedabc.com -> abc.com

I suggest to post all the interesting cybersquatting stories/sites that you know here, so we can share:

    Haha...

I wish I can do the same to the companies that I dislike.
    e.g. verisign.com

Hey, f**kverisign.com is going to expire soon (Nov 2002).

Gee... it will be interesting to see them jump up and down.

I don't see the humor in cybersquatting cases, but I can't resist commenting crappytire.com at WIPO was great.

    NetSol.co.uk "hijacked" at detagged.co.uk

Whilst we can't possibly condone cybersquatting, we at www.detagged.co.uk recently succeeded in beating healthy competition to register NetSol.co.uk for a client who had booked it on our SnatchBack! detagged UK domain name monitoring service. SnatchBack! was the first service run by a Nominet member to monitor and register soon to drop detagged domain names and is by far and away the market leader.

The client is well known to us, being a major player in the UK domain market who has secured numerous names through our service throughout the year.

Although we don't know his precise plans for the domain, I can confirm that he absolutely detests Network Solutions/Verisign and I dread to think of what he has planned. I think that the holding page that he has now put up at www.NetSol.co.uk is only a tiny foretaste of what he has planned!

Visit www.detagged.co.uk today and secure that domain that you've been after.
