Do all domain names registered for a long time have value?

A family member of mine has a domain name he registered in 1999 and renewed in 2001 for 10 years. So, as of right now, the domain name is 11.5 years old, without any drops.

It has very limited keyword value. Nothing special. No hyphens or digits. It's a .com.

If memory serves, google has a tendency to favor older and established domain names.

This is NOT a sales thread, the domain name is not presently being offered for sale.

And this is NOT an appraisal thread, as I do not own the name, nor am I looking for a valuation (hence my not mentioning the name).

My question is, would a 1999 reg'd domain be worth more than a name reg'd today despite the absence of keyword value?

Mods, if I'm in violation of any forum rules here, please let me know. I didn't know how to classify this thread.

    Any help is appreciated.

    thanks.

To answer your title of your post the answer is no. Names that have been registered and developed and hosted for a long time with a following of traffic have value but if it is a name just sitting around with no real keyword value may not be worth much. Most people like myself who like older domain names like them because they may have existing traffiic or good keyword and brand value. Google likes older established websites but age is not a factor in domain appraisal.
