    Well grandmother was just an example. Substitute friends/family members/co-workers/etc. The point is, there are certain people that I would prefer to not know about some of the domains I own.

    And they don't have to know anything about WHOIS, they just have to know how to google your name.

    I use my company name and 'Domain Admin'

    This is what 'Anything.com' does for all of their names and I can't believe they would do anything illegal with the ridiculously expensive domains they own - so good enough for me.

    I remember whois privacy was used as a support argument to make a finding of bad faith in some UDRP decisions.
    Yes, whois should be correct... But the are tons of mailforwarding services worldwide and one can always set 100% correct postal address in many countries... together with a phone number (answering machine forwarding voicemail to e-mail). Sort of your own private whois privacy service
