    Cool Domain Sells Itself

If you have to put in sales pitches like "This domains sounds like xyz" or this domain can be used for a, b c.., or "this domain is worth $1,000,000", etc then you are crying to to the choir.
Post the domain.. maybe a small side note but not rant on it. The buyer immediately knows you are having a hard time selling it and he has the edge.
The domain should sell itself. If it is great to someone someone will pay greatly.
And if it doesn't sell in one place w/o being hyped try selling it somewhere else.
Don't forget THE BUYER IS OUT THERE..REACH HIM BUT NEVER BEG HIM.
    Period.

I personally don't give a sh*t because anything I have for sale is a gift to whomever buys it because I already did all the hard work getting it and I only have the best names.

That being said, some people do not want to have to do too much research and like to know all the details.

I believe in supply and demand drives the prices. If there is someone who wants it they will pay for it.
The question is the marketplaces chosen to get the exposure and have seller and buyer unite is the key.
If someone has to tout a domain like convincing someone to buy into a pyramid scheme with all the woos
then it is a lost cause because domains are different. They are unique and real and the buyer will act on what they honestly like.

If you truly felt you didnt need to pitch anything you wouldnt be looking for a broker, unless you dont know what a broker does lol

I agree I am looking for a broker.. thank you.. I am looking for a marketplace. Not hype.. but getting it into the eyes of the right buyers.
there is a difference from what you imply. I am looking for the buyers. I am not looking for sales pitches.

Brokers pitch, list it at sedo/afternic/ebay etc with no write up and THAT is what you claim you want.

That is one way but what I look for in a broker is that he knows who is interested in what genres and is willing to pay top dollar. Just posting on sedo, etc is fine but how many people looking for abc.com go there? I feel a good broker who knows which people are looking for abc.com is the smartest way of selling.

If that is the case I am out of the broker search. But somehow I do believe there are brokers who know clientele that are looking for exactly what I or someone else has to sell.
As far as sales pitch.. that is not what I am getting at.. it is getting the domain offers into the faces of people who are honestly looking for those domains.

My point is, if you have the best motorboat, don't try selling it to people who live in the desert. If you are in the desert find someone who knows people in demand for motorboats that are most likely not in the desert.
You can go on and on about how great your motorboat is to the desert people and keep reducing the price but they have no incentive to buy. Get the target market and that is WHY I am looking for a broker and a good broker aka agent should do that. If he doesn't he is not a good broker.

so in actuality, the title of this thread ...."Domain Sells Itself"

should be changed to the "motive" for this thread, which is...

"I need a broker to sell my domains"

    imo...

Actually, that wasn't my motive originally in the thread. It just came down to I realize that a decent domain will sell itself to the right audience.

My thought is that a product can have innate attractiveness to a wide clientele (supply and demand) but as mentioned above, any buyer wants to know the metrics / stats of a product. In domaining that can be registrar, similar names, monthly search volume, traffic/revenue numbers.

There's a difference between a "pitch" and a business proposal ... if pitch is looked at in the negative sense.

There are many interesting domains that may appeal to a variety of potential buyers. By providing relevant stats / facts, it widens the potential client base...

    IMHO, of course

I agree stats and relevance. i actually started the thread because I myself noticed that I had tried doing "pitching" before
and realized it was to no avail. Get the domain in front of the right eyes and yes supply empirical data.
Thanks for your opinions.. am going through a learning curve here
