    Re: Domains stolen at registerfly

Seems like this thief likes 3 letter domains, so he won't be interested in mine . I think registerfly should just bait a name for him/her to take and then quitely track the transactions made to try to flush the joker's id out.

    Re: Domains stolen at registerfly

Dang Bill that really sucks. Losing domains on those darn script kiddies. For everyone a alert that they keep good track of there passwords and accounts.

I have serveral 3 letters, but i think those people above missed the point or they don't care about some other domainer loosing domains.

    Shame on you boys....

Thanks for the warning and i hope you get the domains back.

"Thank goodness,i dont have any 3 letters domains so far."

That's like saying thank goodness I don't have something valuable so that someone can steal it.

Does that not sound weird to anyone else?

Very good to hear poulos. I have had a 3 letter domain hijacked in a similar circumstance and was able to recover. I only wish they'd consider prosecuting these people. They fail at getting your name but without any serious consequences I would expect that they will try again.

I make sure my important names are locked with my register, make copies of reciepts, periodic screen shots saved of my account, and I use a password that includes numbers, letters, and charactors if allowed to make it harder to hack passwords.

I also respond immediately to any notice from a register to any changes made to my account. You responded immediately and things were corrected quickly. If you do not respond immediatley I have heard that it makes it harder to get the name back.

Again congrats at getting your names back.

You need to find out if your account was compromised and email contact changed or was it your email address?? It does make a difference..

    Re: Domains stolen at registerfly

Registerfly does have a very nice report that allows you to be immediately emailed every time your account is logged into, and shows the IP number that logged in. Go to My Account > My Profile > Security Options. You can set it to notify you of logins and domain pushes.

    https://registerfly.com/scripts/securenotify.php

(link will only work if logged into your RF account)

Hmmm... very strange...I was responding either based on an email that a previous post had a new reply, or it was listed as one of "todays posts". I didn't really look at the date. Must have been a bug in that thread somewhere.

Anyway, the advice is still good I believe.
