Forum, Forums, Talk all work great and none of them will set you back.
If you have a chance get all 3

Yes I agree. Both are great. Forum I would see being more specific and better for specific topis such as: bmxforum or baseballforum. Forums better for more broad terms such as bikeforum, animalforum as you can break down into more specifics like type of bikes or specific animals.

While the above is true, all of these topics are related to domaining, so I think forum is better in this case. However, where the topics are different, as with the Irish boards.ie, I think the plural is better.

But I also think why not take both singular and plural if you can get them. Also, If one or other is gone I would check that it is not attached to an already established site. In this case I would not register the remaining one for development purposes, but only for reselling.

I much prefer forum, even though a forum consists of sub-forums.

If you're looking for type-ins, go with forum. If you want to rank better in search engines, go with forums. The ratio of searches to results posted by thevirtual shows you have less competition with forums.

Than you would find it funny that the owner of this forum also owns Forums.com

Well i would assume Adam owns several nice names but its about leaning to one side. Same thing here, I would rather own Forum than Forums but Forums is for sure a premium name. Sometimes the plural is the preference. Either way funny i guess.
