I wanted to transfer domain to another registrar of october 11 and approve transfer from email link.... but today i got a letter that transfer was failed
I have had stuff happen like that too but not at GoDaddy, that isn't worth the fight just renew it and transfer it out anyway... don't waste too much of your time on this. unless the name isn't worthy of a two year renewal.
JMO i understand it sux but pick your battles.

pinkponk, you transferred a name out of Parkfish 10 days AFTER it expired.... or was that within 10 days of exp date (before it exp'd) ? cuz i've tried to simply PUSH names that have just expired to another acct WITHIN GoDaddy and they don't let you, let alone after they've exp'd.... it must've been a glitch that worked in your favor...?
doc com, yeah i've heard about that icann rule but it appears no one actually follows it, it isn't being enforced by the registry at least, i've transferred names so many times on the day they expire, as long as it's not a transfer away from Moniker, there they don't let you do it within 7 days of exp (before exp date), there could be others i don't know about or have never tried transferring names out of...
as for transferring names in, ALL places i've tried accept them up to the very exp day (as long as it's before the exact GMT time the current reg ends) except Namecheap, they won't allow even making the request if the name has < 7 days of reg left, there may be others i haven't tried transferring names to, maybe Enom ? since Namecheap is one of its resellers...
good luck to pinkponk anyway, be glad the domain is not at Enom, NetSol or Fabulous lol, that would mean shelling out $29-39 !![]()
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, Nameslave unrepentantly embraces Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard using the #Minimalist method inspired at least partly by the music of Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
You will either need to renew the domain then transfer or wait until the domain expires and then transfer. You have in the neighborhood of 42 days after the domain expires to transfer.
I've used a lot of registrars and GoDaddy is the easiest for transferring expired domains.
gwkg & pinkponk :
thanks, men ! good to know, i did not know you could transfer a name out of GD or its resellers, (and for 42 days !) followin exp date, wow, remarkable ! but it defies logic, why do they refuse simple pushes to my buyer's acct (on GD too) even 3 mins after the name formally expired ? that you can take to the bank, pushes w/in GD after a name has expired (GMT time set on the WHOIS) are not possible, tried it so many times, and if they must allow any moving of the names after expiring, would it not make a lot more sense to let pushes within GoDaddy work ? at least the name IS stayin w/Go Daddy, who knows what their rationale is , but this is weird....
i assume they view it this way : the moment the owner of the expired name on GD asks for a transfer elsewhere they're required to pay a transfer fee = 1st yr reg w/the gaining registrar so a "new registration" has effectively been paid, so the name is not really "expired" anymore in the sense that the GD customer or his buyer initiated the transfer process which all registrars i know include a 1-yr ext in the fee... that's the only way this makes any sense at all...
the lesson to be learned ? renew and transfer before exp date, if you can... in my case i've tried to sell a GD name till the very end and would only renew it during the no-penalty grace period if i get a buyer, or else i'll dump it, but if i change my mind now i know i can transfer it to a/o registrar, and if they have a 5.99 special or so, it might make sense... (do 5.99 transfers still exixt ? i have not seen any for sooo long...)
that's right, pinkponk, you had indeed mentioned you requested transfer oct 11 w/the name expiring oct 19 in your orig post, sorry
