Google to Acquire AdMob
November 2009
Today we announced that AdMob has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Google for $750 million. We are extremely excited about this new partnership and what it means for our publishers.
AdMob's people, products and tools will continue to work to effectively monetize your mobile traffic – no interruptions. Our product and engineering teams will keep building great products for our customers. Our sales team will keep working with our thousands of advertisers to deliver successful campaigns.
After our deal closes, AdMob will work with Google to accelerate the pace of innovation in mobile and do an even better job for you. We believe this deal will benefit our developer and publisher partners by:
*Building even more powerful technology and tools to monetize mobile traffic.
*Increasing the effectiveness of display advertising on mobile devices by leveraging Google sales team, infrastructure and relationships.
*Improving the already high level of service and support we deliver to our publishers.
You can read more about this deal at www.admob.com/google.

yes, i just got the email
seems a lot of cash to pay even for google
but big business and will get a LOT bigger
i didnt find admob particularly user friendly when i used ages and ages back, not as easy ag google adsense juts pasting in so didnt rate admob in that area. may have to take another look at them
One thing AdMob has going for it is an huge client and customer base.
For aiming directly at mobile advertising, to me AdMob has done tremendously better in this arena than google. Google would be hard pressed to re-create a similar business model. Rather than compete, just buy it up.
And yes...that is a HUGE sum of money to pay. But it also demonstrates Google's commitment to the mobile web.
yup
also i dont use any sh$tty adsense etc
i have advertisers that pay me privately or promote my own sites
adsense etc is for rank amateurs and they pay absolute garbage even then, when google dont try and screw you
at least google owns another stand alone .mobi ste nowhttp://admob.mobi/
along with
m.google.mobi
still dont get why they have the m. LOL
Another healthy business eliminated by Big Brother Google.
who said mobi was dying??? where are all the critics at![]()

Google's AdSense works with 1 click.
This sh!t doesn't work even after 30 min of dicking around.
retracted the link.
Once i had tried to work with AdMob, but it didnt really work well with my mobile sites... or is that the other way around.
I downloaded a poker game for my mobile phone and the carrier has its own name and link to other games atop the application. That is a great idea to place ads on mobile apps. Just hope it wont be animated as there may be some that would get confused to know which game they were playing.
