There could be thousands of different answers with just the information you provided. More information as to the site, niche, current traffic, etc could help narrow an answer down. Starting off with Adsense is a good option. Selling links is another, if the site qualifies for having enough traffic/PR/etc as well. Good luck!
Put some quality content up there to keep the visitors coming. Adsense is definitely the easy way to start, but as the poster above mentioned, if you get your PR ranking up you can sell site-wide links to others. This is more appealing of course if you have an actual site.

AdSense is quick and easy plus a lot of times it pays per click (no purchase needed) but the pay is low. If your site is going well try going to Comission Junction and/or Link Share for some affiliate based programs plus Amazon Associates links - but those are paid per purchase.
